After making a reservation for an hour before closing, there was a huge accident that shut down the entire freeway for over 30 minutes. We communicated the issue and asked if we can still come and they waited for us (8 people for hibatchi). Most people would have been extremely irritated, but they didnt show it at all! My only complaint is that the backdoor is close to the eating area, so cigarette smoke kept flowing through. We did have the entire place to ourselves which made it seem like we rented the place out for mom's birthday. She loved that! Food was absolutely amazing, Lobster tails and filet minon cooked to perfection. The tempura plate came out hot and amazing. Recommend this place for all, but sit near the front door instead of the back.

Oh my gosh, some of the worst sushi I've ever had in my life. Think highway gas station freezer section sushi with an extra icey crunch. Everything was wrong with it. The maguro, instead of a deep red that melts in your mouth was an off-white peptobismol pink that was difficult to chew (why am I chewing sashimi?). Every other fish was a pale white and indistinguishable from each other. The sashimi cuts were weird, think, and everything was difficult to bite into. They were icy in the middle. The fish quality was poor, and I honestly left without finishing about half the fish because it made me nauseous.
The staff were the only saving grace it that they seemed nice. I just feel bad that they have to work in a place like this.
FWIW, I went here a few times before as Hisui and it was decent, but last night was kind of disgusting. Both my wife and I were trying to hold it together and finish the small meal before giving up.

A huge swing and a miss for me. First and most importantly the rolls and sushi were not good. First time I've had scale on my sushi and saw the chef pulling out bones. The quality of sashimi is lower quality than nigiri. For the quality of fish and the experience this place is asking too much. The day we went there was not anything on the belt. Food felt like it took a while for the sushi chef to complete. The avocado actually tasted good yep that's all I can say. No squirts so at least you won't get sick but the apps to the rolls to everything felt very sub par. Food was better than what you get at Safeway or wherever but I would never make the drive out here or even consider stopping by even if this was my local area. How do these places stay in business is beyond me.

We saw our waitress one time when she took our order. Random loud pop music started playing. The hibachi had absolutely no flavor, just greasy and the Dr Pepper came out in a can with a glass of ice.

My favorite sushi place I've been around a couple and the best is Hoshi. The all you can eat is my favorite you can pick from a wide selection of rolls and items. The staff are always very friendly, I often take my brother here to eat. Great atmosphere, the restaurant is quite big so there's usually no trouble from noise or crowding.

2024 just not the same. The food is fresh, but the menu is limited. They don't have that many people eating, so the boats don't get used at lunchtime. I got up to use the restroom and the smell is the same smell I smell 12 years ago coming from the sewer lines. They have ways of fixing this problem. Management needs to address it.
Definitely other places better than this to go to, so sad?

With respect to your response you can't do anything to make it better
your bathrooms, the smell when walking in, the unacceptable food quality, the grease dripping from your over head vents on my daughter and her clothing. The state board needs to take you down. I will never return. Your prices are not in line with reality. Your people that wait on your customers do little to nothing for a good experience, my husband felt like we were being watched not to run out. I have never felt so disrespected paying $300 for a party of 5 no alcohol was included in this tab. This place is so filthy I would never return again I do not recommend this place their food is not very tasty it almost is bland when we ordered our sushi they did not give us wasabi and pickled horseradish my daughter was sitting under a vent that was driven grease on her the bathrooms are filthy their prices are too high I do not recommend this place at all it's run down and it needs the health department to take a little visit
