Great experience for the kiddos. Horse drawn sleigh to a cozy tavern for a delicious meal with well executed and warm service.

The place itself was a cool experience. The guy at the front counter was a piece of work. He was super rude and rushed us out by saying "we have another seating at 1:30pm" (open tables EVERYWHERE) and then charged me for $165 sleigh ride I did not request. When I told him about the charge he gave me attitude. Besides the less than hospitable guy at the front, The food was "ok", the mushroom crepes came out COLD & the fish was alright... only positive things was the Service was great from our server. Besides that, over priced, not very nice apparent "manager" and two bathrooms for the whole place.

Very disappointing. Food sub par, more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Would not recommend.

Awesome all around experience! Have been living in the valley for the winter season, and when I had non-skier friends book a visit, I starting asking around for the best way to experience the stunning beauty of the mountains in winter. SO MANY people told me to try the hike up to Pine Creek for lunch; and I'm glad they did!We opted to do the walk-in option, which was great for our group. Skiing and snowshoe seem like they'd be fun as well, but probably not any faster with the time to get fitted, and walk a longer trail. It was super easy to check in at the Alpine welcome center - we got a TON of emails about being on time with a good 45 min before the reservation... but the checkin process for walking was pretty informal- about 2 min and we were on our way.As for the walk: It had snowed a few inches overnight/that morning, but the 'road' that you walk down was basically like walking up a groomed ski run. Its the same path that the horse sled rides on, if you're looking at pics for reference. The walk was BEAUTIFUL - mostly uphill on the way out which took us about 30 min, and downhill on the way back which was a breeze. I wore my cozy grippy winter boots + a ski jacket and ended up with half my layers in a backpack... but also had a friend in sneakers and another in a pair of chukka boots and peacoat. I appreciated the boots, but everyone got by on the 'hike' with no problem. As for the dining experience - we were seated right away and did the two course lunch for $55 pp. Salad or Soup + Entree... yea its a little pricey all in, but not worse than avg in the area especially considering the added cost to get food and staff out there... also the prices are pretty clearly posted when booking the experience so not sure what everyone here is complaining about? Chicken sandwich was really good, and a decent portion- we were too full to order dessert. Also they were AMAZING at accommodating for my friend with a severe dairy allergy. He even commented that it was some of the best allergy aware service he's seen ... ever. It didn't feel like we had a time limit for lunch, which may not be the case with dinner- but we didn't feel like we needed more than an hour or so at the restaurant. Great atmosphere, accommodating staff, amazing views and an overall unique experience in the mtns!My only complaints were 1) it was SO HOT in the restaurant. I actually ended up stripping down to a sports bra (so yes, lunch is quite a few people in casual athletic attire from activities). And 2) IDK what was in the delicious espresso martini I had, but holy cow did they put some stress on my intestinal system. I RAN FOR MY LIFE the last quarter of a mile to the bathrooms at the welcome center, so keep that in mind and learn from my mistake!Dietary restrictions: Awesome options up front when booking to share dietary restrictions. They were also ON IT in the restaurant to check and confirm what could and could not be modified for the member of our party with a severe dairy allergy.

We had a fun adventure with Nordic sleigh ride and Nordic ski. The place is well run like a metronome. Since I did not want to come back with the ski and do the sleigh ride they charged me an additional $40 which was not cool! The food is decent but the staff is super rigid on option and choices. Overall good food and fun dining experience. But this place lacks friendly services.

The food was absolutely delicious- unfortunately there is not a rating regarding pricing- I paid $55 for a burger. I did not know anything about the place. We just went hiking and saw cookhouse…did not even know was open and just took a chance by asking someone on the trail ….was happy there was food and it was good- I can’t give the sandwich the blame for being overpriced and only afterwards realised it is probably aimed at the Billionaires living in Aspen and for them it is probably small change but one have to ask what else you can do with $55 with 20% service charge. I can pack a pretty good lunch box next time! $20 is already getting up there for a sandwich . $30 for a sandwich with good view probably fair but $55 with a extra $10 for service. $60 for a sandwich I just don’t understand. … if that is what it takes to keep the place going then Im okay with that. Im from Dallas and can eat a pretty good steak for $60.

Second time we have been here. It is truly fabulous, especially the guys who take you up to the restaurant and back again. their love of their horses is incredible. Our waiter was angry with us (not sure what we did wrong) which put me on edge and spoiled the evening somewhat. We asked for some tooth picks and were told to go up to the bar to get them. Given the cost it should have been flawless. A bit disappointed to be honest!

The experience was pretty cool and maybe worth it once. The food was just OK. The service was OK to mediocre.I asked what an item on the menu was and told it was basically mashed potatoes. It was NOT it was more like cubed au gratin potatoes. We were not told what time the sleight would leave and were then rushed out the door. Mind you, the server had not picked up the credit card to pay.The sleight ride and views were incredible.

This is a gorgeous restaurant in a fabulous location that you ski or snowshoe or take a sleigh ride into. We have eaten here many times over the years. This time we mistakenly ordered the spinach and mushroom crepe. Beware, it was not very good and not a traditional crepe! It was baked in a cast iron ramekin and overcooked , dry, and almost no sauce. Neither one liked it. We ordered dessert -apple crisp and it was like a baked chucky apple dish with no crisp and no ice cream. The snowshoe in by the creek is gorgeous and took us 1 hr 15 as we stopped to catch our breath and take photos. We took the short way home. I think you do this for the experience. Locals all tell us the food has slipped over the years.

Such a magical and beautiful place! I've been coming here for years and usually do the cross country trail and lunch. The outdoor setting and the lodge are gorgeous. The price point prohibits a lot of working locals from being able to enjoy it. I do wish both the trail pass and the prefix was more affordable. Local's discount would be nice.

The conceptualization and taste of the dishes were purely bad. Went with a party of 6 and nobody enjoyed their meal. Complete tourist trap stay away! The only good thing was the atmosphere, which was amazing.

Food is nasty the only thing that was nice was the horse sled ride . Paid over 800.00 dollars and food was just disgusting. Had the trout and literally had to dump salt and pepper and 3 lemons just to get any taste. Would not recommend this place for food.
