Went during Restaurant Week. Food was wonderful and innovative, if a bit expensive and some items were a tiny bit too spicy. The live music was a delight. Had asked for a booth, made reservations several weeks in advance, but the couple in right front of us whom I believe did not have reservations got the only booth left. They generously accommodated us by sitting us at a table and moving us to a booth a little while later. I used to visit Baur's as a child in Denver, and this restaurant does the name proud.

We will not be returning to Baur's after our experience. We made reservations for 6:00, well before our show at 7:30 and it took well over an hour to get our food. They started taking boxes out so people could box their uneaten food before their shows. We ended up getting our 2 cheeseburgers at 7:15 and had to quickly eat what we could and then run our food back to our car just to make the show. I understand why the restaurant wasn't busy on a Friday night. We typically like to be sympathetic to waitstaff and those in the service industry but this was an unacceptable experience. My burger was served cold, and was certainly not worth $15 dollars. There are hundreds of restaurants in downtown Denver, go ahead and pick another restaurant. As a side note the hostess was lovely, and made the experience slightly better.

Dined pre show at The Buell. Emphasised this point several times to our server who unfortunately disappeared at crucial moments delaying food and check delivery. Also meant taking our desserts to go to eat in the interval at the show! Not ideal dining but they were very good. Participation in the Denver restaurant week seemed to curtail the menu but we managed to make that work by sharing two three course meals ($35) between four of us. Perhaps a better venue if you are rocking up for the music rather than a pre dinner show outing at DPAC.

After several enjoyable experiences sitting at the bar, we were disappointed by our visit on Saturday. We had a reservation and sat in the bar, but the server bypassed us several times and checked on tables on both sides without even acknowledging us. Thankfully the manager noticed and came to check on us (and did so throughout the evening, and was lovely). Food was average, not great. Several bathroom fixtures were marked as out of order. Overall, it feels like Bauer's needs a little better attention to staffing, food, service and maintenance before we'd plan to return.

The only good thing I can say about this experience was that the food was good and had a nice presentation. The problem was that it took over an hour to get it! The server was there right when we sat down and we asked for 1 minute to look over the drink menu and we didn't see her back for about 15 minutes. We were heading to a show and I gave ourselves 1.5 hours to eat and we didn't even have enough time to enjoy our meal because by the time we got it we had to leave. I was surprised because it appeared that we were alone in the restaurant when we first walked in. I asked for our check when it was time to go and our check came out before our food. Then the screwed up my order and when they tried to fix it, the side came out burned. Really a terrible experience overall.

The loud music was extremely annoying, otherwise my review would have been a 4-5. The type of recorded music was not appropriate for the older people who were there for dinner. For a "listening lounge" I expected a better choice of music. I would go to Baur's again because the food was good, and it is close to the DCPA.

We were there on a Friday night to hear the band The Delta Sonics. The restaurant was not very crowded. The band was great. Our server was fabulous. The menu was rather pricey. I believe that the expensive menu kept down the size of the crowd. That was unfortunate.

My braised beef entree was excellent as was the calamari we shared. But my wife wasn't happy with her salad. Egg was soft boiled and lettuce was wiltie with very little ham. Pinot Noir was good and service along with reservation request was good.

The service was below average. At the bar when I paid with cash they did not give me back coin change...that is their policy. Completely unacceptable. When I questioned the policy the server became huffy and gave us a dollar back. I have never heard of a restaurant using this method.

I love bringing friends to Baur's but the most recent experience was not up to par. We had a 9:30am reservation for Sunday brunch. I don't think there were any other parties in the restaurant, although two women came in a short time later. Among the three of us, we ordered a veggie omelet, the crème brulee French toast, and strawberry pancakes. My omelet was luke-warm (at best) as were the potatoes. The toast was excellent. Neither of my guests said anything about their food until the following day when I asked them. My friend who had the French toast said it was barely warm although the flavor was good. I think we were all embarrassed to say anything; I know I was hesitant because I didn't want to make a big deal out of a less-than-hot omelet. If the restaurant had been crowded, I might have been more forgiving, but it was not. I suspect our waitress simply didn't go to the kitchen timely. She said she usually didn't work the brunch shift when I ordered black tea and she brought herbal tea. She was nice about exchanging it. I want to be able to bring more friends to Baur's, so I hope this was a one-time experience that won't be repeated.

The cocktails were good and restaurant nice, but food was generally under seasoned. We also weren't told until midway through dinner that Baur's wanted to charge for the band that night. Baur's didn't push this, which was appreciated, but I wish the restaurant would have made us aware earlier of the potential additional cost.

The food was outstanding, well prepared, and well presented. The price of the food was also very much in-line with a nice restaurant downtown, and close to the DCPA. Which is to say that the food price is very good! Quantity was nicely generous. My only caution is the price of the adult drinks (we had mimosas and a chardonnay). Perhaps they are competitive with other restaurants nearby (?). In defense, the mimosa was very good!

Fantastic spot, just stumbled on it on OpenTable. Perfect for just about anything. We were dressed casually, visiting Denver, headed to a concert. Great place, I loved that the food was as locally sourced as possible! Also, I had a mocktail and it was delicious. I appreciated the option. Highly recommend this establishment!
