I've been to root down multiple times for dinner and always had a great experience. This last visit was for brunch and it was my favorite experience so far. Our server Al was fantastic, the mimosas hit hard, and the food was wonderful. I got the chicken and biscuits and my partner got the breakfast burrito smothered and they were both amazing. Maybe my new favorite brunch spot?

I love love love this restaurant. Yesterday was my first in-person experience there but my third day straight of eating Root Down meals. I have many food sensitivities and really like to eat clean, organic food. Root Down checks all the boxes - the wait staff and Uber eats menu allow you to drill down and communicate any allergies AND the food is to die for delicious. Plus the atmosphere is great. Very original decorations made from repurposed objects. Minimal noise levels. You can actually have a nice conversation! As I said - absolutely LOVED it. Please open a branch in DC! ???

Outstanding service and delicious food. The winner was the Rockfosh, although the chicken and the pork loin were both very good. Love the devils on horseback, and the niche were very good also.

Visit Root Down for restaurant week, the food was really good except the pork loin was on the dry side. But the gnocchi and banana dessert were fantastic.Service was lacking, waited 15 min to be seated, then another 20 to order and another 20 between courses. They kept bringing the wrong food and drink to our table. I think this might have been because it was restaurant week and very busy.I would for sure come back again, especially with friends at are GF and vegetarian, lots of good options.

The food delivery was why this is a 4 not a 5. All of the food was delicious but the main dishes were deliver while we were only half way through the appetizers. With such a small table that made it hard to manage the meal. For this price point, the timing of delivery should be a better cadence. Then we had to wait 20 minutes for the check and dessert after we had finished the appetizers and main course. Rather frustrating, considering how wonderful RootDown is overall. Friendly staff, great ambiance as always, and tasty food though!

Took my staff (9people) to Root Down for restaurant week! Menu was excellent! They accommodated a Vegan and a nut allergy person. I had the gnocchi for the appetiser and the rockfish for dinner. Everyone was full and took their dessert entre home. The service was great and the table & seating were comfortable and intimate.

They did an outstanding Restaurant Week offering. Nearly the entire menu, with few up charges. The carrot and curry soup was remarkable and the Tom Ka with fish is a must. Kudos to the team for making the event a fabulous experience. Our thanks to Jason for the stellar service.

This is the first place I book when the dates for Restaurant Week are announced. I don't care what the menu details are b/c I know it will excellent. Outstanding service as always and well crafted cocktails.

Root Down provided an exceptional dining experience. The eclectic menu impressed with its creative fusion of flavors, and the ambiance was vibrant yet cozy. Impeccable service and a commitment to locally sourced ingredients added a delightful touch.

We had a phenomenal brunch at Root Down. The food was delicious -- very fresh and flavorful. Great menu, and they do an exceptional job of accommodating special diets. Our son, who is vegan, had many choices. The service was outstanding. The whole experience exceeded our expectations, which were high. We will be back!
