The location is fantastic, but unfortunately, I cannot recommend Lazo Empanadas. For nearly $20 (including tip), I received three tiny empanadas that were burnt around the edges, which completely ruined the flavor.
Here are three key issues to consider:
1. High price, small portion: The cost was steep for the amount of food provided.
2. Burnt empanadas: The quality was disappointing, with the burnt edges overpowering the flavor.
3. Tax-inclusive tip calculation: They calculate the tip based on the total, including tax, which is misleading because tip should be based on service and food quality, not tax.
While the location at Edgewater Public Market is great, I don’t see Lazo Empanadas measuring up to the other excellent options there. For $20, I expected much better value and quality. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

There is one taller guy with an attitude that I try to avoid every-time. It just unpleasant and I’ve asked other friends and they’ve said the same thing. Love the food. So we decided to drive to other locations 20 mins away instead. Even though this one is down the street.

We loved this place!! The service was amazing and the empanadas were delicious. We were served by Franco, who was super nice and sweet. 100% recommend.
Try the milk caramel and cream cheese with peaches! You won’t be disappointed! Also the chimi was some of the best I’ve ever tried!

Food quality has gotten noticably worse while prices have been going up steadily. Bummer, were my favorite but after three not-so-good orders in a row, it seems like the changes made to cause this are here to stay.

Tried Lazo Empanadas for the first time this morning, and ordered a spinach empanada... My gosh, it was so savory. The filling was flavorful and delightful and the crust was crispy and flaky. I am certain that I will crave these in the future and will definitely be back.
