My Japanese wife and I went to the restaurant tonight. My expectations were modest. I was so wrong. This is a truly wonderful restaurant and as good or better than places I have eaten in Tokyo and Kyushu. The food quality is exceptional and so is the service. We ordered the chef’s special for two. Wow! Really great. The price for all this was incredibly reasonable. $45 x 2 plus a small serving of sake $20. Totally worth the 30 minute drive.

It’s not the same as when Mr kazu owned it. It was so much better sushi rolls and sashimi and vibe. The everything was more authentic made from the roots but all respect to the new

Friendly authentic Japanese owners (Yama & Miho). Open sushi-chef bar was rollong out beautiful trays all evening. Sachi was our nice server. We had delicious spicy tuna roll plus salmon, shrimp and scallop sushi. Balls of octopus were succulent. Tempora shrimp and veggies were nice to break up the sushi. Both deserts were yummy. Took home miso and hamachi kama, also delicious. All sushi places are pricey for quality and this place was average for that category but I could have made it more affordable by selecting plates and combos but we just wanted to just pick around. Comfortable atmosphere. We were almost the first ones there at 5:30, but did not get that weird empty feeling at all, probably because it is a smaller place. I've been to Japan several times and other American sushi restaurants, and I'm glad the owners wisely traded the floating plates for a more personal experience. Good thing we arrived early because it filled up to a such a busy level by 6:30 or 7 on a Saturday, we had to ask for more water as the wasabi is plentiful. ;) We heard even the kids laughing instead of the usual whining or crying. It's March and I've been uncomfortably chilly at the last 6 restaurants, but I noticed right away I didn't need my over-sweater here which was nice. For some reason I just loved the between-paper-and-cloth napkins I haven't seen before. Looking forward to frequenting this little gem of a restaurant to try more.Parking: Free parking lot off the street close to door at restaurant level.Kid-friendliness: There were surprisingly several families with kids and they were laughing not the usual whining or crying.Wheelchair accessibility: I didn't really notice but it seemed to be all one level from parking lot to restaurant in a strip mall where there should be a place to roll up if there were one step up. Restaurant is a single level with regular tables and booths, and a sushi bar with chairs that could be moved for a wc if tables full.

I went there after a long time, the owner has changed, the menu and prices have all changed, and they are selling curry and Chinese meat buns.I don't know if it's a sushi restaurant or an Indian restaurant or a Chinese restaurant, it's not an authentic sushi restaurant anymore, the staff is not friendly, the prices are expensive. The restaurant name is still Kazu, so I thought there was Mr. Kazu, but he sold the place and retired.

This is no longer the best Sushi in Colorado. Kazu sold it. I tried, with my son in law who lived in Japan, and his first reaction was "not a Sushi Chef". Much of the wonderful Japanese cuisine is gone. No more hot pots. Barely any real sushi or sashimi. It is now a run of the mill sushi bar. I will give it some time and try again, but my heart is broken. They will need to find a REAL Sushi chef. Back on the hunt for a real Japan trained, Japanese sushi chef in Colorado so I can have great Sushi again, which is what this was, but is not now.

Came on day 3 of the grand Re-opening (2/1). The owner was the only one making sushi. Granted it was a snowy day and not full but still handful of tables of curious customers to try it out given the change in ownership. The service was decent, nothing special but at least 4-5 staff working so not slow. The chef, however, was just like an old grumpy man. Not friendly, not welcoming, and not personable at all, He had at least 6 adults at the sushi bar and didn’t interact, say Hi or smile at any of the customers. And then the way he cut nigiri and sashimi - narrowest and thinnest slices we’ve seen. Literally had fish cut narrower than my skinny index finger. We initially thought he sliced each piece in half for his style of presentation. Turns out; that’s how he cuts them. Yet, the prices are some of the highest we’ve seen. This ain’t Uchi or Sushi Den/Izakaya Den type of place to charge the same prices only to serve tiniest slices of mediocre sushi. Most rolls were basic and some creative. The owner is charging $11 for fresh wasabi, exactly y the same portion of which goes for $3 at sushi restaurants in town . There are so many great and good sushi restaurants in town with very good quality fish, good cuts and presentation and friendly customer service but this place ain’t it.

I went here with my boyfriend and it was an amazing dining experience. The staff was attentive and super friendly. Everyone greeted us as we came in and left, they even sang me happy birthday! The food was great! All of the sushi was delicious and you get a very large serving! The karaage was the perfect appetizer and was crispy and juicy. The restaurant was clean and was a very relaxing vibe. If you want good food, great service, and a calm ambiance, COME HERE!

I went here when I was 16, I'm now 32. If you're going to get sushi. This is the place! Everything is incredibly fresh and the portions are generous. If I could come here more than 2-3 times a year I would be so happy.Me and my sister usually do this for our birthdays and have been a tradition ever since!

This place is amazing! We ordered the chef's special and everything was delicious! Everyone was very friendly. They have the best ginger dressing I've ever eaten! They provide fresh hot towels when you arrive and a palate cleanser when you get the check. I just loved everything about this place!

The food is really good and most of the waitresses are super nice and helpful, but the one OLD waitress is really rude and needs an attitude check. Sadly it really ruins the experience.

This is easily the best sushi place in town. It's difficult to start because of the beautiful plating by the chef's but so easy to finish because of the flavor.
