We really wanted to like the food at the Wondervue, knowing it has new owners, and we like to support local. To start, our menu was dirty. I can get past that, but it went down from there. The nachos and chips with queso were tasteless. The queso was cold, and was runnier and less flavorful than a Wal-mart brand of velveeta cheese. The chips were cold, and tasted several days old. We ordered the tacos and a burrito, and we returned the burrito because even a knife and fork would cut through the very hard shell of the burrito. The restaurant was empty except for us, with only a couple singles drinking at the front, so for us to wait 45 minutes to be served was inexcusable. They took the burrito off our bill. We paid for the rest, and don't plan on going back.

Beautiful mountain place! Loved the outdoors dining area. Service was just lovely! The young man who helped us, was super nice. Going back there for sure!

Some of the BEST food in Colorado. From local roots and keeping with traditional recipes.

The service was terrible. It took forever just to be acknowledged, get water and menus. The food was ok but expensive. And again it took forever to get our food and drinks. We were going to get the kids dessert but by then we were just ready to leave. It took 2 hours and there wasn’t that many people there.

I'm used to high-quality Mexican food being from Texas so this wasn't anything to write home about but there isn't much up that way so this was a nice delight to have close by.

6 of us went for a Sunday drive (all in our own cars to socially distance) and went to breakfast/lunch at Wondervu. We had a reservation for the patio, and it was a lovely day. The patio is large, not a great view, but it was a nice patio. The waitress was SO grouchy, She complained to us that she had “an 8 top, a 6 top and another large party coming in...so are you ready to order?” She made us feel rushed and rolled her eyes when we asked for more coffee. She complained to every table she had, as we got to overhear her many times, It took 15 minutes to get the first coffee’s to the table and a really long time for the food. The food came out in groups..not all at once. Most of us had to wait for parts of our food to come out, they didn’t even come out together.

We had dinner here and the food was good, authentic Mexican food. The main issue was it was very pricey for the area. usually this type of food is not real expensive, but their prices were really high.

Lovely hidden gem in the mountains between Nederland and Golden in the tiny town of Wondervu. Who’d expect such a great Mexican restaurant here?
