**Review of Midtown Cafe, Grandby - A Hidden Gem in the Old West**On a Sunday morning, around 10:30 am, my wife and I decided to swing by Midtown Cafe in Grandby. Even before we arrived, the cafe's popularity was evident; a long line had already formed, and most of the tables were already occupied. Lucky for us, we managed to beat a bit of the rush and secure a spot without much wait. The cafe stands as a beacon of modernity amidst the old west backdrop of Grandby. Its aesthetic is a refreshing departure from the rustic and somewhat grotesque surroundings. Instead, the cafe exudes a welcoming and cozy ambiance reminiscent of a traditional cafe, with an array of coffee, food, and books scattered around. One of the standout features of Midtown Cafe is its versatile seating arrangements. Whether you're looking for a quiet corner to read a book, a communal table for a casual meeting, or a space to host events, this cafe has got you covered. There are plenty of areas to sit, relax, mingle, and meet, making it a perfect spot for various occasions.I was particularly impressed by the vibe of this place. The ambiance was spot on, striking a perfect balance between cozy and lively. In my books, it definitely earns a solid 5 stars on the vibe test. When it comes to their menu, Midtown Cafe offers a wide assortment of coffee and food options. My wife and I decided to try their salted caramel frap and chai tea latte. At $5.25 for each drink, it seemed like a reasonable deal. Alongside our drinks, we also ordered a Meat bagel with jalapeno wrap for my wife and a veggie wrap for myself. The food was delicious, fresh, and satisfying. The cafe also maintained clean and well-stocked bathrooms, which is always a plus in my book. However, there was one hiccup during our visit. My wife's chai tea latte had a hint of coffee in it, which was surprising and not to her liking. She has a knack for recognizing her favorite drink, having worked in a coffee shop herself and ordered chai tea lattes from various places both in the States and overseas. In all our previous experiences, a chai tea latte did not include coffee unless explicitly ordered as a dirty chai. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, they offered to remake the drink but insisted that their chai tea mixture indeed contains coffee. This left us a bit perplexed, as traditional chai consists of a blend of black tea, spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger, along with milk - no coffee involved. The staff's somewhat dismissive attitude about the mistake without acknowledging it was a bit disappointing.Despite this minor issue, I would still highly recommend Midtown Cafe to anyone visiting Grandby. The overall experience, from the ambiance to the food and drinks, was excellent. It's a great place to unwind, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and soak in the unique atmosphere of this charming cafe.

Basic food and burnt coffee. Nothing special here … it’s counter service, you grab your own food and bus your own tables. They could at least be friendly.

Overall a pretty nice breakfast spot. Very nice friendly service, but keep in mind that there is no table service - you pick up your food and you clean up your table. However, prices are high enough to expect table service. Food was only OK, the potatoes were both burnt and undercooked. The egg benedict was good though.

Currently traveling cross country and this was the best breakfast we've had, by fat. The staff are lovely, welcoming, and take care to prepare your order as requested. In addition, the atmosphere of being surrounded by book shelves overflowing with books to purchase for $3.00 or less, supports the local library!

Loved the food and coffee there. They had GF BREAD which was a great find. Also they have books inside the store you can read as you drink your coffee and enjoy your foodVegetarian options: I had a veggie melt on GF bread and sweet potato fries and both were excellent.

Unfortunately, disappointing. The place gives off a great vibe outside and when you walk in up until you start talking to people. The menu is really good and offers a huge range of both quick and traditional breakfast staples (to-go pastries all the way to omelettes and more) which makes sense with the semi fast-casual vibe. The food was good though admittedly not great and very overpriced given that fact. The atmosphere is fun with used bookshelves (from which you can shop for an inexpensive read) but the service takes the air right back out. Bluntly, no one seems to like working there. Hey, maybe it was early? I don't know but I did not get a happy feeling from the staff. Also, because it's fast-casual, you will be picking up your own food from the counter and bringing you plate to the drop off where you will scrape it clean and stack the dishware. Whatever, I'm not better than the serving staff but I do feel like the tip options should default to 20% if the staff doesn't actually do any of the drop off or clean up.All in all, there are better places in Granby. Look elsewhere.

This was some of the worst sausage gravy I've ever had. They made the gravy out of chicken stock, which just tasted awful. Sausage gravy should be fat (either from the sausage or added through butter/bacon grease), flour, and milk/cream. Why would anyone add chicken stock to it?The "white chocolate" espresso my wife ordered was so unbelievably awful tasting we had to toss it - if she wanted a black coffee, she would've ordered one. Please add more flavoring.French toast was pretty solid though.
