Came here about a year ago one night. Ordered a new york strip. Was not impressed. Pretty fatty and not really tasty. Went back a couple months ago with a large group and what an improvement. Food and service were great. Waiter was friendly and happy. He explained the issue with my bad experience. Apparently the owners had some others managing the place and they simply were not in it to provide the best quality. Well I'm happy to say they are back in the saddle again

I know we are far from pork bbq country, and the economy stinks, but.... I started going to Jimmers when they opened years ago in the smaller location. I never was a huge fan of their pork, but the beef and other selections were very good. Since moving to the Red Barn location, I am not a fan. It's a great location, and there seems to be a popular bar scene. Unfortunately, getting the product to the customer in a timely manner seems to be very difficult for them now. When I have eaten in, my food has come to the table cold, and the prices are significantly higher than the other local q place. I ordered a pound of pulled pork by phone last night. I got there, and had to wait 15 min for my order, which was about five dollars too high. The meat, which we sampled immediately in the car, tasted to me like it had been frozen and reheated. It did not taste very good, and was stringy, dry, and tough. Paying premium price for below average food and service just does not make me happy. I have really wanted to be a fan of this local restaurant, but I don't think I'll be going back. Definitely not for pulled pork.

Jimmers was next to the hotel I was staying at. Ordered the sirloin with baked potato. Good steak with cold beer. The BBQ looked good as well. I score a 6.5867. Next time I'm trying the BBQ.

This place was good, and they were nice with the kids. I only took one star off because the ambiance was wrong for the food. Very bright lighting, I felt like I was eating on stage.

Clean, nice place very friendly courteous staff. The only person from our group who like their food was the one who ordered a steak. All the meat ribs chicken pork and brisket all tasted old and heated up. Nothing was fresh. We were the only table at 3pm (open @11) and our food did not come out at the same time 2 people waited additional 5-8 minutes. Béarnaise sauce came side dish cold and hard/solid. We shooed away flies the whole time.

My husband and I shared the loaded fries. They were loaded all right with FAT and GRISTLE! We ordered the fries with brisket. I guess Jimmers uses the brisket scraps, scraps that a hungry dog might turn down. Aside from that the fries weren't warm and there was hardly any cheese. We paid $12.99 for this plate of crap.

Our family went here after the light parade and it was good! Had a hard time deciding on dinner as everything looked delicious. We were all very happy with our choices and had enough leftovers for a meal the next day. Prices were all very reasonable too... Our server was very nice and attentive! We met the owner on the way out who stopped to help us with the t-shirts. We hear they have bands here in the summer too...will definitely be back!!
The reviews for this place are stellar, so today must have been an "off" day for them. I've been to Jimmers 3 times since moving here recently. The first time we had a great server. She was friendly, up-beat, and on top of her work. The pulled pork sandwich was good, and the coleslaw was good; pretty basic, but totally fine. The second time, we had a different server who was extremely slow and not afraid to share with us she was ready for her shift to be over. It was lunch time. It took a long time to get service and to get our food. The brisket was okay, not great. The potato salad and the beans were bland. I popped in for lunch & a beer today, and asked if I could sit at the bar. The very unfriendly hostess said yes and told me she would be over with a menu. I sat there for about 5 minutes (the only one at the bar), lots of girls working there talking in front of me, nobody greeted me or offered me a drink. No one even looked at me. Eventually, the hostess came to seat 3 fellows at the bar, offered them menus and took drink orders for them. I made eye contact with her so she knew I was still waiting for a menu and she unapologetically brought me one in a rush, but didn't take a drink order for me, like she did for the 3 guys. Even after bringing them their drinks, nothing. I waited about 10 minutes and just got up and left. I don't know... maybe this was the "B" team. I would have been understanding and patient if the reason were simply that they were busy, but you can still touch based with a customer and let him/her know you'll be right back. Takes 2 seconds. But the fact that they were tending to later arrivals right in front of me seemed a bit directed.

Thus place is fantastic! Our server/manager Jenna was great. All of her suggestions were on point and my smoked prime rib was fantastic. My wife's chicken fried steak has now ruined any other chicken fried steak for the rest of her life.

If it is a roafhouse/smokehouse BBQ joint you want this the place. As you approach the hostess you have a choice to make. The choice is do you sit in the PG side or the R side of the house. Based on the colorful language on the bar side I would say Jimmers is a popular place with the locals. The service was cheerful and helpful. It was a packed house and she had her hands full. My pulled pork and homemade sausage was tasty. Unfortunately it would have welcomed some heat. Kind of like an indoor picnic. But wait no meal is complete with one or all three BBQ sauces. But based of ours and diners around us I am sure we all left with full bellies.

Ate here on the recommendation of person at visitor center in gunnison. Place was very crowded but we were able to get in right away. Servers were very busy but we were still taken care of. Food was good but sirloin was a bit tough. Chicken fried steak was good. Potatos were not instant. Overall a good meal.
