Abbott's is an icon in southeastern CT. Service is bare bones but quick and efficient. Place your order and pay at the outside window and your number will be called at the inside counter. Pick your own table inside or a picnic table outside along the water and watch the boat traffic. Food is delicious. Favorites are the cold lobster roll dressed with mayo or the hot lobster roll with only melted butter, just like eating the whole lobster without the work. They are also known for their clear broth Rhode Island style clam chowder. This is a classic seafood shack so they have a somewhat limited menu with a few kid's choices and only a few non-seafood and even fewer vegetarian options. So anyone with rigid tastes and requirements should check the menu online ahead of time. Plenty of parking unless it's a particularly busy time.

We have been making a yearly trip to Mystic for about 10 years and Abbott's has always been the mainstay of our trip! We will usually eat here two to four times over the week-long stay.Big lobsters, steamed clams and raw oysters sum up the food we enjoy. Actually, immensly enjoy! Reasonable prices and beautiful views, too. If you want simple, steamed lobster, this is your must-go place.

We had lobster, mussels and the tuna salad for those with an allergy to shellfish there are alternatives. It came with chips and coleslaw. Seating inside or outside (shaded area available).
