We went to the Hamden Townhouse to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. For 30 dollars a meal I’d expect them to have the things advertised on the menu. No split pea soup, the salads were days old, the corned beef was far overcooked, the mashed potatoes were store bought, and the cabbage was undercooked. Service was slow and decorations from the past 3 holidays were still hung up. On top of that, they were out of Guinness (granted, it was the day before) yet for their beers they were out of a majority of the options on the list. An awful way to celebrate the holiday, and I would not be surprised if the restaurant closes within the year.

We ordered from Uber eats and half the order was missing. We got a French dip sandwich with no au jus dip, the entire reason for ordering this item, we upgraded to the salad for an extra $2 and that was missing, we asked for the Italian bread with the soup and that was also missing. Just run! They obviously fail to train their staff. I blame management. How hard is it to follow directions and fulfill an order?? They clearly don't give a shit about their establishment. Such a shame...

Chill vibe, nice staff, not crowded, extremely quick service, high quality and a very high quantity of food.

We figured we would give it a second shot after our french dip disaster. We got the meatloaf dinner. It was inedible. The ice cream that came with the dinner was really delicious. Service was great, but unfortunately, we will not be back. The food was that bad.

Got free hash browns with my veggie wrap (minus the wrap), one mini cup of coffee, and a cheesecake to-go (as a gift, sometimes we make poor choices). I haven't been eating much so I thought veggies would be filling but I should have just gotten avocado toast. I'm not really going to comment on anything else, but I kinda liked the little bar I was sitting at. May be nice to go if you like a blast from the past like you're in an old movie? They seem to have regulars going in so I wonder what they order. . .

This review is based on this experience. I've been here a few times and always been satisfied with service and my food. But this particular night from the moment I stepped inside I didn't really feel welcomed. I was told I can sit anywhere which I did but I waited for over 10 minutes before the waitress came over and asked if I needed a menu and something to drink. I placed my order in which the food was delicious but the waitress not once came over to check on me. But as I sat there I noticed other families being escorted to the tables with menus. Now that I'm finished with my meal still no waitress but I see her going over to other tables and basically paid me no mind. There was even a family of 4 who arrived after me got there meal and left before me. I was alone. After about 10 minutes or so of finishing my food I got up and had to ask another girl who wasn't my waitress for my check. I was just not in a good mood when I left there.

There are regulars and there are people who stop in after appointments in the area once a year. I'm in the latter group. Service has been consistent over the last 10 years, think familiar diner food. If you want something special, speak up. If you want to be away from drafty entrance or in a quiet corner, let the staff know. The older gentlemen in the middle don't care if you listen to them carry on about wills and lawyers while they sip their coffee. I often enjoy the eggs benedict, French toast is lackluster, desserts are fun treats for the kids. It's right off rt 15, next to a hotel. Ignore the spelling errors and have a good time.Dietary restrictions: Speak up and be specific. Their grill is very busy, check for allergy safety at the start of each meal.Parking: Off street parking with an entrance and an exit.
