First time trying Abate Pizza, North Haven. I usually drive 25 minutes, to Zuppardi's, Frisco's, Ernie's or Modern. We tried Abate’s twice to be sure it’s consistant, and the bacon. Mushroom/onion, pepperoni, or sausage pizzas were excellent! .

Ordered three items for take out. Our order missed one item, our chicken cesar was horrible. You could tell it was not made fresh as the chicken had a funky texture and tasted old. The pizza was over done. When I called to report the missing item the staff was very rude. They did issue a credit for one item, however I am reluctant to call back to complain about the lousy salad and overcooked pizza. We've eaten here before and the place was great. Something must of changed recently. Very disappointed.

We love the Pizza here. So glad they came to North Haven. Usually we have to go to several other towns to get good pizza. Not anymore!! You have to try it

The North Haven location is deceivingly small. The majority of the building is the kitchen so the seating area is pretty small consisting of a bar along with a few high top tables and about half a dozen regular tables. I was disappointed in the flavor of the house dressing on the salad and the pane cotto had far more bread than escarole. The chicken parm and shrimp parm were unremarkable. I am happy they were finally able to reopen in some capacity and we will patronize again, in the future, to order pizza.

This new location is awesome. Wonderful old school vibe. And the apizza is remarkable. I ordered a cheese with fresh garlic and frankly, it was the best I've had. The service is great and there's plenty of parking. I give this new Abate's my highest recommendation. Easy five stars.

I really wanted to love this place. It's a Wooster Street exile due to fire and it would be great to support them. My expectations weren't overly high, I read the reviews, but I always take them with a grain of salt, as we all should. They are subjective and some people are just complainers.Short story, would I go back: yes. But my wife will refuse to come.Rest of the story: we had an evening dinner. I had the Broccoli rabe and sausage grinder, something I typically order in other places and to me it was excellent. My wife had the eggplant Parm grinder, she said the sauce was a bit weak, like plain crushed tomatoes. She didn't finish and I had the other half the next day. I ate it and I agree, sauce was not up to par.Staff was super friendly and attentive, better service than I have had recently and worth noting.Dining area was cozy and pretty busy with regulars for a midweek evening, so that tells you something.Overall - while these guys are pretty good they haven't won my wife over. I might come back for takeout myself, but we probably won't be back to dine in as a couple. It's getting expensive to eat out and people want to walk away wowed, not meh, it was ok.

Early evening on a Friday, I walked in, greeted right away and seated immediately. I met the owner and his wife who took care of me. Delicious wine with a tasty cheese pizza….. great place and worth the pop in for pizza!?
