On Business Travel and decided to try a new place... This gem had everything... Good Atmosphere, Excellent Service, and Amazing Food... My co-worker and I tried the Shrimp & Sausage Pasta, Braised Short Ribs, Gumbo, Mac N Cheese, and Cornbread.... AMAZING... everything was delicious and Owner/Chef Amoy spent time with us directly... We will be back... Regulars when we are in town...

The bright décor makes one feel the happy New Orleans vibe. The free cornbread is exquisite that just thinking about it makes my mouth water and keeps me so happy as I wait for my meal made with lots of Southern love. The menu has great options to choose from but not to the point that it is overwhelming. There are also specials written on the wall.

Love this place, I wish it stayed open later due to the fact that it is downtown. It's a new restaurant in downtown New Haven. One of the only places that have soul/creole food, and they close at 9:30pm. They have some of the best corn bread I have ever had. However this establishment is clearly a black owned business. I've been here a couple times an realized that they cater An provided better faster service to the white customers. Even though we were all paying with green money. It was really that noticeable. Speaking of which this place can really use more wait staff. However the food is amazing, sides sold separately as well an love that it's byob.

The beef short ribs melt in your mouth. The fried chicken nice and hot, crispy and golden brown. The cornbread is buttery and like cake and I love me some cake. The food is great. Nice ambiance too. Great music. The owner, Amoy, and the staff are friendly and coutreous. Some of the best people I've met in a long time. I am always excited to go there.

Amoy's has the friendliest service I have had in New Haven. Every dining experience has been delightful from start to finish. The chicken gumbo is by far the greatest I have had and comes in two sizes, one of which could be an appetizer and the other a meal. I cannot even begin to describe the New Orleans fried chicken because it would not do it justice as it is just so remarkable. Please, do yourself a favor and try this three-piece meal dish for yourself. You can also add yummy sides for an additional cost. I am so ecstatic to work myself through more of the menu and highly recommend that you make your way to Amoy's.

My new go-to spot for when I miss home. I can't really think of anything that hasn't already been said, but I'll still make note that the complimentary cornbread is ridiculous and incredible! The catfish poboy is as good as Louisiana's; all I needed was a few pounds of crawfish on the side.

I really, really, really like this place. It feels like a nice mix of small town comfort, historic connection, fun, cozy, artistic, and friendly. It's like going to your favorite coffee shop, only it's a restaurant. But it's relaxing like going to a coffee shop. Even if you stop in alone, you'll feel like you're spending time with friends. This is my new go-to when friends visit New Haven!

My family had a great time celebrating my dad's birthday. Amoy and her staff treated us like old friends. The atmosphere was just like the restaurants we visited in New Orleans. Fun time! Great food! Great Music!
