Cask Republic is a great meeting spot in the heart of New Haven. I have been there for small groups, just meeting friends, all the way to a full restaurant rental for a large corporate event and everything in between. The staff and bartenders are always friendly, but more importantly really know the beer. They will spend time helping you get the right selection and seem to really care whether you like it or not. Oh - and the food is pretty darn good too. Love this place!

We stopped mid day on a Saturday and it was not busy which during this Covid time was ok with me. The beer selection was good. We ordered some appetizers and this was the disappointing part. The large pretzel for $9 was not that big and the $23 charcuterie board was sparse. It wouldn't have cost them much more to put a little more cheese, bread or crackers and maybe a whole apple along with the other things. It was barely enough for 2 people but there was 4 of us. If the appetizers were better we may have stayed but we went elsewhere. I do like the vibe though.

I'm sorry, but no. The dinner my husband and I had at Cask Republic was a complete fail. We will not be back. This Saturday we went to try out Cask Republic for the first time, as well as to indulge in their Restaurant Week 2020 menu. Last weekend we dined at Olives & Oil and a reservation was a must, so we went ahead and made reservations for CR (Cask Republic) a day in advance. When we got to our reservation we realized it wasn't need, as the restaurant was empty aside for the employee. We were seated in a booth and given the regular menu and the restaurant week menu. One thing we did like, is that they allow you to taste any of the beers and ciders before you order! Anyways, we both ordered the pesto mac n cheese, which appeared to be a regular appetizer on their everyday menu. That was really good, definitely the best dish we got in the evening. Following that we ordered the burger as both our entrees. My husband got his medium and I got mine medium well. When we got the burgers we were just shocked at how dry they were, even at a cook like medium. I thought the fries were just a little too hard for my taste. In the end, we both didn't finish our burgers, they were just not good. Finished the RW Three Course Dinner with dessert. My husband got the bread pudding and I got the fried brownie. Once again, he said his dish was just okay and he loves bread pudding. The fried brownie was interesting, it was battered in a funnel cake like batter .... good but not great. So, besides the food and honestly our drinks as well, being subpar it was HOT in there. I mean we were sweating throughout dinner. My husband asked the bartender to turn the heat down and he said they'd been trying but with The Omni reopening it's hard to control. We felt so bad for them, because being in that hotbox all day would be unbearable. It was just a lingering part of our dinner that made it unbearable. Sitting there sweating! Not to mention, drinking doesn't help but make you hotter. Everyone who worked there was kind, don't get me wrong. BUT, our experience was terrible and with so many other incredible restaurants in the area we probably won't be back.

I ate here after a long day of driving. We got a few beers. The draft menu was pretty decent, some pretty funky stuff on there (kombucha ginger?). I got the spicy chicken wrap. The wrap wasn’t what I’d hoped it to be. The fried bit sloughed off and got soggy with all the other ingredients. The overall flavor was just missing something (what it was I’m not sure). My SO got the vermont style burger. He said it was mediocre, not worth $17 though. Each dish came with a mountain of fries. Honestly surprised how this place got a 4.3 rating with their food being how it was.

Always great food and awesome selection of beers and cocktails/whiskey! A win win. Great atmosphere during pandemic times- nice setup where there is enough space but it felt “normal”. Support our local businesses!

This place never fails to deliver. They have great food for convenient rates, there are no long waits even when the spot is full.

Very elegant and welcoming place. They provide large portions and for fair prices. I liked the menu a lot and the staff were very personal and explanatory. Recommended.

Wow, this place is BY FAR MY FAV ?? my husband and I accidentally stumbled upon this place years ago on the way to a Mets game and absolutely loved it and the staff! Great food and great selection of beer and cocktails!!! Service WITH A SMILE EVERY SINGLE TIME and once you become a regular here, it’s like visiting family. Anastasia,Manny and Mike are fantastic and are each so inviting and engaging in conversation. It’s an overall wonderful atmosphere, so please don’t pay any mind to the review from Bianka Banks giving this place 1 star and a bad review, because quite frankly,I think she must’ve accidentally reviewed the wrong place.I go to Gateway right across the street now and often come here for a late lunch or early dinner.I have come on SEVERAL different days of the week and my best compliment I can give this place is they are ON point with their consistency ;) service and food are on point to the tee and I’ve witnessed on several occasions how welcoming they are to newbies and other regulars. If you’re looking for service with a smile and an excellent menu and environment for you and your friends or family to come spend time, trust me come here.

Went for happy hour. I was not impressed with the bartender. Never suggested drink specials. The waitress wasn't attentive. Food was nothing to speak about. I wouldn't give them another try.

Cask Republic has a wide variety of beers on tap, including the "Fat Orange Cat" featured in the picture. I cant say anything particularly bad about the place, but nothing particularly fantastic either. It felt like a generic, overpriced bar. Their menu is lacking in shareables and their whole menu seems to be a weird mix of few appetizers and whole $30 main dishes with nothing in between. I went because I saw sliders on the menu but do not be fooled, sliders are no longer served. The staff was friendly enough, but overall not a place I'll be going back to. Theres far more exciting options in and around the city with the same amount of beers on tap, and better food at better prices.

Awesome place to bring your whole family to eat and drink. Kids got chicken tenders and mac n cheese and it was homemade and fantastic, the chicken was real fried chicken so the adults kept stealing it. The arugula salad with chevre and beets was my favorite. We all got tuna nachos, burgers, sandwiches and fries and everything was amazing. The beer list has something for everyone and I love having local microbrews on tap. Overall everyone was very happy and I would recommend this place to anyone. It was even worth the $25 parking ticket I got ?

Well kept establishment. Food is typically pretty good except the veggie burger. It came over cooked and very dry. It was horrible. Everything else I've had here is in point. Love the ribeye here.

One of the best experiences I've had in a long time! The staff is attentive and professional, well versed, and knowledgeable! The eats are tasty too!

Wonderful selection of beers, but prices for flights aren't posted, and do not correlate to the prices that are posted per glass. We had a flight of 4-5oz pours that ended up beIng 22 DOLLARS. Disappointing.

I really appreciate their beer selection and the special mixed drinks they have in rotation. They always have at least one or two barley wines in stock (my favorite). Their food I could do without. Most of the time it’s just over-complicated versions of food that was already good (there’s no reason to use lamb for a rueben!!!) and it’s all pretty overpriced. But there’s no shortage of places to get a bite before heading over for the beer.
