CitySeed's Wooster Sq farmers market runs on Saturdays from 9am-1pm in the summer and is located in the Conte West Hills middle school parking lot. Parking is easy to find. It's an amazing place to stock up on weekly produce, grab brunch/pastries/coffee with friends, and dog-watch! On some days, there's even live music/performers. Vendors vary week by week but there's usually a good variety of seasonal produce, baked goods, prepared foods, coffee, local honey, dairy, eggs, and meats. Personal favorites: The fruit from woodland farm is amazing - they had samples of their plums and after trying one, I had to buy a pint! Other stands I find myself going back to are Seacoast Mushrooms (great variety and mushrooms are so flavorful!), Sono baking (delicious pastries and English muffins), and the jitter bus (excellent coffee to sip on as you're browsing the market).

We went to the Cityseed market which is at the school near Chestnut. Some things you HAVE to try: Persian ice cream. (Not made with eggs). AMAZING!!! We tried the lime and also the pomegranate. The lime was just slightly sour but so refreshing. The pomegranate, we didn't recognise it as such, but it was tart and a perfect end to a meal. As I live in NJ I was bummed I could not buy some to take home and will have to take a freezer bag next time with visit! Shito Ghanian pepper sauce. OMG this is such great stuff. The fish based sauce is a must if you like something to give a kick. If you like Asian fish sauce and chilli sauce, this is the stuff for you. We should ahem bought more!! Try these, you won't regret it.

This review is for Sanctuary Kitchen. Been happily ordering meals from them during the COVID pandemic and it is great! Delicious food that is well labelled (so we know the new things that we are trying). And it even came with pamphlets about our cooks and their stories (those are on our fridge now). Thank you!

I love the fact that I can purchase CT grown goods any Saturday all year round at a City Seed Market. Today it’s mid February and there was kale, lettuce, salad greens, micro greens, bok choy, clams, milk, eggs, meats, breads and so much more available at the market. All CT grown and processed.

I found the winter market to have everything one needs to make a great meal including fresh root vegetables, fresh greens, bakery, meats & prepared soups, milk, cheeses, pestos, mushrooms, honey, treats for the dog, seafood, music and just a great atmosphere. City Seed is doing a great job with the various farmers markets and demonstrations from up and coming food entrepreneurs. They sponsor a food business accelerator to help entrepreneurs get started. I look forward to the weekly market and connecting with the farmers who grow/raise my food.

We came home with beautiful produce, amazing bread and meat that I can feel good about serving to my family. We will be back weekly.
