If it can be deep fried in terms of Seafood, Captain Seas does it. They have deep fried scallops, fish and chips, french fries, and a lot more. Their menu is very uninspired., packed with deep fried frozen seafood. Deep frying everything is about one step better than Microwaving everything. The only real difference is most of the time, you need to keep time and also change the oil at least every 2 days.

I am a self proclaimed fried seafood (specifically fried clam strips and shrimp) expert. I travel far and wide, across New England to find the sweetest, lightest, crispiest fried clams and such. My wife and I were in Wallingford looking for lunch and past this place. I normally would have passed by as the outside appearance was hardly compelling, but the idea of any fried seafood that moment struck me. What we found was very solid fried seafood served with a smile and complete competence. The clams hit 3 of 4 things I look for. Sweet clam flavor, crispy coating, not too oily, and the oil was clearly the right temperature and not old and dark. The coating was a bit heavy but of the sins that they could have committed, it was minor. The shrimp were above average and recommended. The fried cod was solid. It could have been a less firm bit again I am scrutinizing. Are they the best ever... no. You'll have to go to the Clambox in ipswitch MA or Biglelows in Rockville center NY for that, but you could do worse than go the Captain Seas... PS just don't get the clam chowder.

Their menu descriptions does not measure up to their food the food was fried in old oil their crab cake was horrible their lobster bisque was made with imitation lobster their steak & cheese sandwhich was horrible not like a regular steak & cheese came looking like a burger I would not eat here again .

Just picked up from here for the first time. The lady was So nice, and caring and attentive. I swear I was in a better mood when I left just from the interaction. My food is wonderful as well. I got fish and chips, burger, o rings, chickie fingers. :) oh yea- surprisingly reasonable!!!!

Its more like a cafeferia than a restaurant. The roll for my lobster was sopping in, I believe, margarine? It was grose. Server never came back so I never got ketchup for my fries. It was dissapointing to say the least.
