Food is decent and pretty average for Italian. Workers who I suspect are the owners always seem grumpy and sarcastic.

Little italy is a local italian market in wallingford that is supposed to bring the New York little italy feel to wallingford. I mean brick oven pizza and all the bells and whisltes one would expect and so busy people would be lined up out the door. Unfortunately, that is not the case. For several years I have had many of their subs, thier pizza, cheese and other prepared food and i always felt like its just ok but not that knock your socks off good where im going to brag about it being in town. The building is too big for what they offer. They can offer more like a big area for cheese and some hanging sausage like liuzzis. Everything is vacuum packaged which is convienient. Its still a place i enjoy going too once in a blue moon but thats about it. I went there for their egg and cheese sandwich with coffee deal for 5 bucks but add bacon that will be almost 9 dollars. Im just torn there is this wonderful market so close to home but I still prefer other places.

This place is good as long as you can ignore the flippant behavior of their employees. They have great pizza and other Italian cuisine. They have all the Italian desserts that you can imagine and they are all delicious. It is a bit pricey but overall a decent place.

Good taste .... Toppings are sparingly placed , got large sausage & bacon .. barely a piece of each on a single slice . BADLY over priced pizza , asked for double sausage , was 2X the price for a single pie . This place is greedy!

This review is solely on the Chicola bread. Little Italy in Wallingford has thee best Chicola bread I've ever had. There's more Chicola than there is bread and you don't have to ask for extra. If you have not tried their Chicola bread, TRY IT.
Chicken Marsala over pasta was delicious and made two meals out of it. Their home made bread was fresh and wonderful. The steak and onion sub was very good. Very clean inside.

Little Italy Gourmet is the BEST with the friendliest- and funniest staff! They all are a family and treat their customers like family! No order is impossible and they make wonderful suggestions! Their food is fresh, the breaded chicken cutlet are increíble,the meats are fantastic! Definitely try their jarred sauces! The only place I go to-DEFINITELY GO!

I was so disappointed AGAIN!! Due to them not putting the top on properly AGAIN Red grease got all over my car seat and my brand new white purse. And what is worse, the chicken inside was as hard as a rock. They have amazing broccoli Rab and pasta fagioli soup

This place frustrates me a bit. It's a cross between a gourmet Italian market and a takeout Italian restaurant. Plenty of great choices and the store itself has an okay selection. That being said, I found their food and market items to be exceptionally overpriced, yet nothing blew me away in terms of taste. Ordinary at best. In my opinion, there are several great Italian restaurants within 2 to 3 mile of Little Italy who just do it all - and do it much better. Hometown comes to mind. Lastly, this staff here - not the friendliest folks. Perhaps they are the owners- that would be my guess! Either way, I'd like to like this place a lot more, but as of now - I just can't!
