Ammathar Thai Cuisine is a great spot for authentic Thai food with a cozy and lively atmosphere. The flavors are bold and well-balanced across the dishes, and everything feels freshly made. The grilled chicken with sticky rice was a standout — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and paired with the sticky rice that was spot on. Definitely a dish I’d come back for. If you’re looking for really good Thai food in town, this place is worth a visit

My husband and I came to this restaurant many times and also ordered online from this restaurant many times, I even took my friends there several times but today I was extremely disappointed with the service at this restaurant due to the behavior of the middle aged woman who served us. She was unnecessarily rude and disrespectful throughout our visit. When I politely asked for a takeout box after our meal, she responded with a rude attitude. Then when we asked for the check and informed her we were using a Groupon. She abruptly stated that a 20% tip *must* be added and proceeded to modify the bill at the payment system to include the tip without our consent.
To be clear, we had every intention of tipping fairly — even 20% or more — and we did but the issue here is the way it was handled by her. There is no mention in the Groupon terms of a mandatory tip, and forcing it upon customers in such a manner is completely inappropriate. The entire experience felt disrespectful and unprofessional from her, her attitude was unacceptable for anyone working in the service industry and that attitude ruined the restaurant's reputation.

Local go-to Thai spot. I ALWAYS order the Soft Shell Crab, which is perfectly fried and accompanied by a spicy yet tasty sauce. The past few times we have tried the Whole Flounder (pictured here). They tend to fry it a little too deeply, but it still is solid. My wife really enjoys the Thai Iced Tea as well. Service is good and the prices are fair.

The food here is fantastic – really tasty with a good variety, and as a vegetarian, I was pleased with the options. What surprised me was that the spice level was actually quite mild, which was a nice change. However, I did feel a little uneasy about the neighborhood. There seemed to be a noticeable number of homeless individuals around, and it felt a bit chaotic at times. While nothing specifically happened, it's probably wise to be extra aware of your surroundings when you're in the area.
