Fat Pete's is our go-to for ribs, etc. The food is consistently good & Door Dash gets it to us quickly. BBQ is a treat for us & Fat Pete's makes sure we're "fat & happy!"

Food was seriously basic. I shouldn’t have to fight to get the meat off the bone. Brisket was basic. No flavor. Only thing saving this food was decent BBQ sauce. Idk what the heck they and sprinkling on the potato salad or coleslaw but it was unappetizing. Cook the potatoes all the way! Mac n cheese, blah. Won’t ever be going back.

Terrible service when I went to pick up my food. Cashier was rude. I didn't feel like they were taking social distancing and cleanliness very seriously. Will not be back.

Ordered two meat platter with two sides. Driver dropped it at my door. Only delivered two meats no sides. Fat Pete’s said I need to talk to the delivery company postmates. No one would answer the phone at postmates. Meat was cold and grisly. Don’t order from Pete’s.

Got takeout during COVID-19. Ordered online and food was ready on time. Bagged with extra sauces, silverware, etc. Turkey platter- super moist Collard greens- vinegar provided great flavor Beans- standard Green beans- could use seasoning Waffle fries- crispy and delish Wings- perfectly smoked, great flavor Salmon blt- fresh and flavorful Hush puppies- just ok Food was delicious overall and service good.

The moral should be don't let the smell of the bbq fool you. We were so incredibly disappointed. We each ordered a different pork sandwich and the meat was so dry and tasted only of "smoke" that it left me with wicked indigestion for 24 hours and I only consumed half the sandwich. While they provide a container of sauce (depending on sauce you choose), it doesn't permeate the meat at that point. So you end up with a hunk of meat (not pulled) that is unappetizing, dry and the flavor is only that of smoke. Pouring sauce onto the meat/bun makes the bun nothing but soggy. Maybe offer less sauces so that meat can be bathed in a sauce while cooking? Instead of a hunk of meat thrown on the bun, how about pulled meat? We didn't even eat half of our sandwiches. Money down the drain. So sad because we had high hopes and I love great bbq, especially eastern Carolina bbq.

There's no way to define this type of barbecue and sides I just experienced. Try taking years of the best way to cook barbecue foods, add passion, pride, love, Family and 100% Wood Smoking methods then BAM! This Georgia Born, AF Veteran has found a new Kitchen he say it's like "Home Cooking"! Yep, I'm taking my momma there. Oh, did I mention the bartender is a true BOTL! Fat Pete's made our Memorial Day family gathering easy, tasty and amazing! It's hard to find great BBQ in VA. While waiting on my order, I just stood in the parking lot and inhaled deeply,)~Amazing aroma! Their BBQ was tender, juicy, firm and smoky. Their sauces made the meats even more delicious. For once, we were not grillin', but chillin'.

I find the pulled pork here the best in DC and all the other dishes are good too. Service is friendly and efficient.

Being from the south, I can honestly say this is the best BBQ I've had in DC in my 7 years in the area. I absolutely love the selection of sauces, mostly because they have all the regionally based sauces (both SC mustard-based and NC vinegar-based most importantly).

Wow, this place has gone downhill in last year. Have given it 3 chances in 2020 and have been more disappointed by each visit. Dry brisket, over salted sides. Ribs that were so tough I couldn't finish. Went to the new brunch they promoted on FB, not worth the money at all. Thankfully federalist pig is down the street.

Asked for brisket, got turkey instead. Pulled pork was dry...I didnt know that was possible. Mac'n Cheese turned into a rock while I was still eating it. Beans are good. But it's beans, they always are. Brisket came out, half was good,other half was like eating chalk. Their BBQ sauces were tasty. Thank goodness, I needed them badly. Can't recommend. Too much cash to leave unsatisfied .

Best whiskey and bbq place in DC! Spare Ribs are delicious! The sauces are make in house and add to the meal. Service is awesome!
