Was looking for affordable barbecue, and the prices seemed reasonable. Overall, it was meh. The sides (mac and cheese, collard greens, and candied yams) were fine. Not bad, but not great. The candied yams tasted more like puréed sweet potatoes than candied yams. The pulled pork sandwich was tough and on small two slider rolls. My partner's ribs were incredibly fatty to the point they were inedible. The small piece of corn bread tasted spoiled. Overall, it was disappointing and I would not go back.
The spare ribs were 90% fat. The pulled pork was tough and on the fattier side too. The cornbread is wrong and leaves a sour after taste. The collared greens are very vinegar forward, which is cool if you're into that. The "candied yams" is more of a sweet potato purée with marshmallows. The Mac and cheese comes with rotini-ish noodles and was the most memorable dish, which isn't saying much.
Steer clear of the Fat Pete's food truck and do not work with Woody. We had a food truck event booked with Woody and he was arrogant, unprofessional, and difficult to coordinate with. Woody forgot to send the food truck we had booked and confirmed the day prior and he didn't have any professionalism to call me and apologize or provide an explanation for the no call no show. Woody told me he was doing us a favor by sending the food truck and that serving our location was not as profitable as other locations. We will not be using Fat Pete's again and I will not recommend anyone to hire them for their food truck. I am also sure the many residents we had waiting for the truck will also think twice about eating here.
Great ribs, sliced beef and amazing collards. We order every couple of weeks and are always very happy!
The food is bomb! And I loved trying the different sauces. The staff is really friendly and accommodating. We had great drinks. Even the people there were fun. I felt like we all became friends chatting and watching the game together, it's definitely a community-oriented space. I'll be back very soon!
Ordered delivery which was quicker than promised. The brisket was very tender a little fatty but I actually liked that part. The ribs were a little touch though. I think they should offer/provide an accompanying sauce even if you don't ask for it; perhaps their signature sauce. I think having a sauce would have brought out the flavor a bit. I ordered Cole slaw and Mac n cheese. Cole slaw was just ok. But the servings were plentiful. Never had flat cornbread before but, ok. I would order from them again with the recommendations to pick or add a sauce. The value for the money was good. I got the 2 meat platter and it will take us 2 days to eat this much food.
Disgusting thats all i got to say not worth the money paid for this all the meat was burnt mac and cheese tasted like dishwater
We are visiting for the weekend and it is our first night here. We saw this place on DoorDash and it looked great. When we received our order the food was spilled out in the bag, the food was also ice cold, we did not receive utensils, or the correct drink. I called to speak to a manager on duty and was told it’s door dashes fault. There was no concern about how we received our order, any concern about how door dash handled their orders, or try to make the situation better. I’m making this review because of how the manager was on the phone. I felt like I wasn’t being heard and that there was no solution. We spent $50 on food for our order and felt like I was being blown off.
I gave one star because the amount of baby back ribs I received. The brisket is totally not worth almost $17 and it's dry and have no flavor at all. The potato salad is still in damn near whole pieces this was my first and definitely my last time eating from here.
The friendliest place in Cleveland Park by far. Nice food, good beer selection. I've been here many times, never had a bad experience.
Unrivaled quality and taste of meat dishes! I will recommend this place to my friends.
Absolutely the best pork I’ve ever had. So many different choices, all very good. Very clean environment - considering COVID, I haven’t went out much. PJ is an all around awesome guy (the bartender we had, who also served us) will definitely come back again with my girlfriend!
Extraordinary ambience and very affable service. The meals were crisp and delicious. Will absolutely recommend this place to friends. Fair prices and large meals. Keep up the great work.
Come for the BBQ, stay for the customer service. Gentleman running the joint for the day took the time to chat about the recommendations and walk me through the menu. I went in expecting to get the brisket sandwich but was talked into the burnt end grilled cheese. Think he mentioned it's won best sandwich like 6 years running for the area. I paired it with the Mac & Cheese. Everything was packaged up in 10 minutes flat along with some bomb bbq dipping sauces. I'll definitely be back to try some more items. If you're feeling BBQ and can't get down to Texas or the Carolinas, this place will scratch your itch.
I haven't been to this place in a while. Last time was pre covid. I worked all day and was thinking BBQ. The place is practically empty, people coming in for takeout. I grabbed a table and was served almost immediately. One dude working so he was busy. I knew what I wanted almost immediately. Chopped brisket, beans, mac and cheese for sides and a cold shiner. Beer was quick. Food was maybe 5 minutes, hot and good. Spicy sauce complimented the excellent brisket. The beans are excellent as well, I wish I could cook like that. I added another shiner and was done. Got my check and left. Excellent food and service all around.
