Unfriendly staff! No signs in the front they don't take cash. Parked walked there to purchase cookies and couldn't because I only had cash! They really should add that to their website!

Like all Firehooks around the city, great baked goods and delicious cakes. But what sets this location apart is the amazing courtyard -- no better place to laze around on the weekend reading.

I placed an order for Mother’s Day. When I picked up the cake, the bakery didn’t write Happy Mother’s Day in the cake like I requested. The bakery didn’t even bother on reaching out to me to let me know. I called they said they are not responsible for it they just place the order and they left me on hold for 15 mins. I usually go to the Capitol Hill location and this was the worse experience, I would not be returning here.

They started mopping the floors 2 hours before they close & moving furniture around super loudly. A literal shot of espresso took forever to make with no line. None of the baked goods are that great and the patio is crumbling. I wish I was allowed to start closing this early where I work...

My friend bought this red velvet cake for my bday and this was the best red velvet cake I’ve ever had! It tastes better when it’s cold.

I love firehook because the people at every location are great and the cakes and pastries look amazing. Working/studying here is okay - there are small tables and a good amount of outlets. I had a chai latte that was quite watery, but the coffee and quiche were fine. I would recommend a stop to get some work done or rest a bit but have middling expectations for food and drink.

Small bakery with limited seating. Range of breads and pastries.

Best ham and cheese croissant! Only drawback is parking is tight.

Honestly, I walked in here to sit down and eat a sandwich I bought at Vace Deli (a couple doors down), but felt compelled to buy a drink. What I ended up with was probably one of the best latte's I've ever had since leaving Naples, Italy. These kids know what they're doing in there! It was SO good in fact, and the assortment of pastries looked SO delicious, I ended up getting dessert there too and saving the other stuff for later. Some unwobbly tables would help, but the service, cafe's and pastries are to die for!

This place is so delicious! I got the smoked salmon on break and it was good. I also got a coffee and also good. The prices were reasonable. The bakery also has lots of desserts that look yummy. I went in the winter, but it seems that they have a nice outdoor patio in the back.

Sad to say I reached my last straw with Cleveland Park's Firehook. Since their coffee and iced tea is barely consumable, previously their only redeeming quality to patron - for me - was an occasional sweet or lunch. Today I had my day started off wrong by the cook's unsavory attitude about a simple add-on to my order, and my food burnt. Attitude goes a long way into the ingredients of a meal, and service experience.

It's unfortunate that this is the only bakery/coffee shop in Cleveland Park. They regularly mess up my coffee order - I always ask for oat milk, because they don't have a clear listing of the available milk options. Today they didn't clarify, and the barista made my vanilla latte with cow's milk - fortunately I saw and asked him to make it with a non-dairy milk instead, otherwise I'd be sick all day! No apologies, and he re-made the latte in a smaller size, and without vanilla. This was supposed to be a little morning treat, instead I'll never come back here again for coffee. At least their pastries are good.

I like their hot cocoa. I like their coffee. I seem to be at Firehook at least once a week. I frequent the Cleveland Park area and this is my favorite spot to relax with a hot drink and a pastry. The staff is always really nice and efficient. They have indoor seating and a nice courtyard in the back with additional sitting. Firehook is also the only coffee shop on the block so I am happy they are there when I need my coffee fix during break time.

Love the breakfast sandwiches and chocolate croissants. Docked a star because the coffee is not very good. There is also a great back patio for the warmer months. Step up the coffee Firehook! Tip- for a fresher breakfast sandwich, they have little cards you fill out. They are on top of the pastry case. I'm not sure of the time, but at some point during the day they do stop making breakfast sandwiches and you are stuck with the pre-made stuff. I think having more freshly made sandwiches during the day would be a big improvement.
