My boyfriend and I stopped in for drinks on a busy Friday night and we were made to feel unwelcome. We were sitting at the bar, chatting over a drink, when the bouncer walked over and told me “you need to stop”. He must have seen the confusion on my face because, without skipping a beat, he said “you two have been kissing all night.” That line only added to my confusion. As the bouncer walked back to the entrance, we spoke with the bartender who called over the manager. I told the manager that we probably shared a peck or two over the course of the two hours that we spent at the bar. His response? “We don’t do that here.”I’ve been to this bar more times than I can count and I’ve always made it a point to visit whenever I’m in DC. The bartender is excellent and the live music is great, but I cannot support a business where I am singled out for being gay. Why should I go out of my way for a bar on a quiet street in Georgetown when I could stumble into any gay bar on U Street and know that I’ll be treated with respect?

Stopped in for a friend’s birthday party and disappointed is a light way to put it.There was supposed to be live piano karaoke, yet we were turned away when we tried to go up and sing a song — the pianist said he’d “try to get to our request” even though we were the only folks seemingly in the entire 90 mins we were there that put one in.The drinks at the bar were not half bad. They had creative names. The “food” was the worst part of it all though. I’ll let the photo speak for itself, but the $13 chicken “tenders” left a lot to be desired.I hoped for a lot, and still hope they improve on these shortcomings.

***Not safe for LGBTQ+***. It’s sad to believe this would happen anywhere in 2024, let alone a major metropolitan city. But, my two friends were singled out by the bouncer and told they would have to leave for an innocent kiss on a Friday night in a crowded bar. Leaving this as a warning to others.

Terrible bouncer. Decided to take my business elsewhere. Bar deserves 0 stars. On March 2, 2024 around 9:30pm, bouncer refused to let my friend in because her legal ID is from the Dominican Republic. Bouncer was inhospitable, abrasive and rude from the start. It felt pretty racially motivated. After my friend provided a passport, he allowed us in but immediately kicked us out because we commented on how unusual this was. He allowed the line to build up over this petty issue. Would not recommend this place and will not be returning anytime soon. If you do come, make sure to bring a birth certificate because you’ll need it.

Jesse the entertainer was rude to us and made a dig at my friend for trying to give him cash rather than venmo. He also couldn’t sing so was undeserving of anything. The other singer was a good entertainer. The bar man was friendly but the drinks are over priced.

Came in before dueling pianos. We love live music and was super excited to listen along while sipping on something fancy. But NOPE. It was to d*** loud to hear the piano! All we COULD hear was the shattering squeals of college students screaming and yelling. It was so unpleasant that we sat for less than 10 minutes and headed out the door. This place could use a renovation and some color. Once it gets some pizzaz back, I can see the audience change a bit. We've been to dueling pianos in Nevada, New York and Tennessee. This one didn't even come close to what we experienced at those establishments. Would I give it a chance to come back late at night when the audience is even more obnoxious to watch the duel? No.

They charge you 7% for the pianist that is not playing. Another 20% as a grant is included in the check. The bartender is rude.

I dont think they have food. It's a nice place, good energy. Must be very tiring for the piano players but they don't show it.

Both pianists can't sing. Older singer's voice was excruciating; sick or past his prime. Other singer was mediocre.Food was edible but bad.Management should add a vocalist who might sit between them. The piano players would provide harmony.Nevertheless many people in the establishment sang and enjoyed themselves. All staff were prompt and friendly.
