When I came to the United States, I was looking for a roastery like this one that does roasting with love.In the United States, I feel that there are many cafes that emphasize the scenery like Starbucks. There are more and more such cafe in Japan, but I like the roastery with love that pursues the taste of this cafe.I'm glad I met you. Thank you.

Fantastic coffee. I got a medium cold brew and it's up there with the best quality coffee that I've had, not only in DC but anywhere. Strong, flavorful, yet also smooth. Pretty large cup too for a medium which is nice. Not usually over in this part of the city but will definitely stop in when I am. Cheese Danish was decent as well.

The best coffee in D.C., and I say that as as a long time Washingtonian and coffee lover who has visited and enjoyed many of the District's fine cafes. The coffee is superb, the cafe is cozy, and the staff are kind and attentive. They roast their own coffee from Ethiopian varietal beans and it is fantastic. I think the Harrar (dark roast) is the single best coffee variety I've ever had. I always buy my coffee beans here. Also, the spicy lentil sambusas are excellent.

Adorable little coffee shop. The staff as super friendly and the drinks came out relatively quickly. My iced vanilla latte was delicious. I see that they offer raw coffee beans for you to take home and roast yourself. The roasting in house clearly makes a huge difference in flavor!
This coffee shop is a treasure! They serve fresh in-house roasted coffee daily. The drip is excellent. The staff were very friendly and helped me choose the right roast given my flavor preferences. They also serve a nice assortment of baked goods & there's WiFi for those who need it. This is everything you'd hope for in a cozy, small neighborhood coffee shop. (not pictured are some additional tables in the back that offer outlets) Here is a statement from Harrar's website, "we're a local, family-owned business offering a variety of high-quality coffee at competitive price. We opened our coffee roastery with a single vision: to deliver outstanding coffee to our community and beyond. We are determined to become a "must have" for neighborhood coffee addicts and local businesses alike." :-)

The best time to drink coffee is not when you wake up but to sit outside in the morning sun the same time. Harar Coffee is located on one of the busiest street of Washington DC. Driving south on Georgia ave on the left side before Howard University. The freshly brewed Ethiopian Coffee , for grab and go, the place is really convenient. Morning sunlight shines through its front glass walls will make you sit inside and enjoy the experience.

Delicious coffee, both in terms of store-made drinks and beans to take home. Sambusas and almond croissants are especially tasty, too! Cozy environment, often playing relaxing music.Vegetarian options: As far as I could tell, all the pastries and the sambusas are vegetarian.
