Very disappointed by my experience trying to dine at Happy Gyro. First, the building doesn’t have a sign on it and it nearly impossible to find. When you do manage to enter the front is an ice cream place and it’s very unclear if you’re supposed to walk past the ice cream counter to order at Happy Gyro. I was stopped by staff who acted like I was an inconvenience for not knowing where to order. I was then told they didn’t have gyros and could wait 40 minutes for a slice of pizza. For a place written up as supposedly one of the best in the city, the atmosphere and customer service were atrocious. If y’all are planning to rebrand the least you could do is communicate this to customers in a respectful and effective manner. I hear their food is amazing but I can’t say I really care to find out for myself.

Love their pizza and ice cream. The passion fruit burnt basque cheesecake flavor is out of this world!

Happy Gyro is great! Such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.Only missing 1 star because what happened to the Gyro?? That was one of the best things to eat and DC and am so sad it’s not on the menu anymore. As the namesake of the restaurant, please bring it back!!!

From Michelin starred chef behind Komi and Little Serow. Famed ice cream is Olive Oil w/coco crumble. Try sourdough pizza and the Freakaburger

Amazing food, service and ambiance! The roasted goat was the best thing ever and loved every dish!

Got the vodka grandpa slice, red grandpa slice, and white grandpa slice for mains, and the halloumi bread with mushrooms and carrots with orange labneh for sides. The pizza was great and the sides were exceptional!! The labneh was to die for and the mushroom loaf was unlike anything I’ve ever had before. Looking forward to going back to try wine and ice cream next.

One of those places that you’re proud to say is a local establishment in the city. Everyone has always been so friendly to myself and my partner for the multiple nights we’ve ordered for pickup. The ice cream is fantastic and the wine selection is great. Very happy they’ve introduced local delivery.

Food is awesome! Not sure why online it has $$$$ as the pricing really is not bad and the portions are a good size. Pizza, falafel and pork platter are incredible! Ice cream is delicious! Will be a go to spot for sure!

Very nice staff but the gyro was terrible. Dry, over cooked meat that even the sauce couldn't save. Expensive too!

Delicious pizza slices. I wasn't sure so got two: the n'duja sausage & kabocha cream. I was hesitant as usually don't like sausage in pizza but this was delicious, it even had a calabreses topping that elevated it, the other one was the vodka sauce with added pepperoni, it was good but the pepperoni slightly overpowered the delicate sauce so let's original. Total with tax came to about 15, for two big slices

Friendly staff and nice walk up experience. I ordered a grandpa pepperoni slice, which included some unexpected jalapeño, that was delicious. While I waited for the slice, I got a chance to try two of the ice cream flavors from the cart out front - my favorite was Basque Cheesecake, but they alternate flavors, so whatever they have when you go will probably be tasty (even when it’s cold out)

Amazing Sicilian style pizza and unique ice cream. Takes a while to order so plan ahead.

Everything they make is fantastic. Super fresh high quality ingredients. Friendly staff

Really? I think the kitchen staff were hiding behind the door laughing when we were served these bites - fishy flavor with bubbles poured over it for effect. This place, I think, was the inspiration for the movie " The Menu" .
