Our disappointment was over being denied alcohol. Me 54 and my wife 38 clearly did not need to be carded, however were. My wife's id we found was expired Given her schedule not surprising. No reasonable person would think us underage. Put a damper on our evening.

The food was okay but not impressive. The restaurant was super loud and It is definitely not a place to chat with friends during dinner. The spinach was super salty. Service needs a lot of improvement. We waited very long time for the food and many times they forgot to refill the water and wine for us.

Waitresses can be a bit obnoxious but hey, it's a French restaurant so that's actually quite authentic, and so is the food!

I had heard so much about Le Diplomate's brunch and burger that I had to check it out for myself. I overall enjoyed myself. A great solid brunch spot with pretty tasty food. Here are my takeaways:EnvironmentA very beautiful busy space especially on the weekend during brunch hours. It's bustling with people enjoying champagne and breakfast and filled with laugher and conversation and servers moving in and out and people trying to get seated. The place has a classic and authentic feel, tons of seating but packed to the brim. They also have some limited outside seating. It's def gives french vibes (from what i can remember from when i visited France). Wonderful space for dates, hang out with friends or solo dates with a great book.ServiceThe service was fine. We had reservations so we were quickly seated. The service was somewhat slow but not too bad. At a point we were ready to go for a while but I think the server just thought we were enjoying our time and didn't want to interrupt. Overall the service was solid and the server made sure we had everything we needed in a fairly timely fashion.Food and drinksSo I had very high expectations about the burger because that's all I heard around town is that they had the best burger in the city. Of course I got the burger and it was....pretty good! Now not the best burger I've had but not too shabby at all. Good enough for me to come back and get it again. The pancakes were warm and delicious. I have a spot in the city with my fav pancakes and these are up there in that list. They were really good. We also tried the ricotta ravioli - that was pretty good. I would def order again. I ordered a side of eggs that were good but not worth the price. I think they were like 15 dollars lol. I love eggs but they didn't weren't that great.OverallGreat place and a good brunch. there is a lot of hype around it that may have shifted my expectations some but overall I really had a good time and enjoyed the food. I would come back to try other things on the menu and would def come back for the burger and the pancakes. I would love some eggs but idk about paying 15 dollars for them. lol. I will be back!

Visited for the first time today for an anniversary brunch. We loved the food, service, and atmosphere. Pastry basket was divine! French toast, quiche, and cappuccino - all delicious. Was a special morning and we can’t wait to be back!

Atmosphere was great, but I can’t recommend the chicken paillard I ordered. It had a raw feel to it. When I asked the server if this is how it should be, she said it was. I tried a different section of the chicken and it tasted much more familiar, which confirmed my suspicion that it was undercooked.

If you want to have some upscale cuisine and drink, this is certainly a good place to go. It has a nice combination of fine dining mixed with the traditional diner experience of an overseas eatery. For example, they maintain a lot of space outdoors to eat where most European diners usually maintain their customers and business. In my experience, indoor dining in Europe is usually the result of when they have a lack of space. What I am saying, is that you can get the Euro style dining experience here!Their waiters/waitresses will attend to your every need in a quick and professional manner, and guide you through the vast drink selection available! My go to is often dinner/appetizer with a red wine from Bordeaux finishing with a light dessert paired with Champagne. The food is amazingly well made and served in the appropriate quantity as to not over burden you so that you can have several course.Highly recommend this place for dates, solo fun, or business lunches/dinners!

I don’t know why it took me so long to go to Le Diplomate but I loved everything about my meal! When we arrived our table wasn’t ready yet so we sat at the bar and ordered espresso martinis which were delicious. Once we were seated we shared the Escargots à la Bourguignonne and Onion Soup Gratinée. I never had escargot before but this was seriously amazing. It comes with a garlic parsley butter that is perfect for dipping your bread in too. The onion soup was good as well! Our waiter was kind enough to split the soup between the 3 of us to share. For entrees I got the Steak Au Poivre which comes with garlic spinach on the side. It was cooked a perfect medium and the sauce was delicious. Other entrees we ordered were the Steak Frites cooked medium rare and Lobster Thermidor. Both were so flavorful and perfectly cooked.Overall all our food was amazing and the ambiance and service were just as good. Everyone talks about Le Dip for a reason and I’m so glad I got to finally try it!
