I usually come here for pastries and drinks (or coffee), which are tasty. You can come here in a summer dress or be super causal -- all would fit in. It's laid back and also has the "I can pretend I'm in a European cafe" feel. They have a bottomless drinks brunch option, and it's not uncommon to find a jazz band playing on the weekends, which makes for a nice atmosphere. Really good bottomless brunch. The food menu is a little limited but still good. The hamburger is really good and the mimosas too. Try getting there early because sometimes they run out of the bellinis. There's live music which may get loud but really don't mind it. They take reservations for big groups.

The food is pretty basic. I didn't try the pastries, which probably would have boosted this rating higher. The best part about Malmaison is the aesthetic, which is a little disappointing because the service could have been so much better, making the overall experience better. We had to seek out the waitress to get a coffee refill, and we were literally one of the two other dining parties in the whole establishment.
