Great Mexican spot in the Union Market neighborhood in DC.The vibes were amazing the drinks were great and the food was really good.The best Ceviche I’ve ever had!!!

I previously went to the Mezcalero on Rt 1 and wasnt terribly impressed. In a random comversation someone was saying to try the place, I gave my expdrience, and he recommended the DC location. Not one to discard a good recommendation, I put it on my list and finally went. Parking at this location isn't great. But if you can find a spot its worth checking out. I decided to break from my typical Al pastor and birria tacos to try something different and got the chicken mole. The mole was far better than I expected it to be. Part smoky, part sweet, all good. The onions add a little extra activity, then add in the rice and beans and it was an all around great meal.

I was recommended by a colleague to try Mezcalero and I definitely enjoyed my visit. I visited on a Friday night, no reservation, and I was seated quickly. It had a decent number of people but wasn't super packed. The place is right on 14th street, it's pretty small but lively. The server was very kind and attentive. I loved the salsa verse that came with the complimentary chips and salsa. I got the tacos de mole which came with yellow rice and black beans, my partner got the enchiladas de mole which came with yellow rice and refried pinto beans. I loved my meal and my plate was definitely clean when I was finished with it! I love that the tacos come on corn tortillas with cilantro and onion because that is closest to authentic tacos. My partner enjoyed their meal as well! I got the horchata which I really liked, my partner who is Mexican didn't like it as much. The agua de jamaica was good but a bit more on the sour side not sweet. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and definitely want to come back to try some other dishes and cocktails!

The waiter was too rude. I went with my boyfriend and my aunt to eat and from the moment he arrived at the table he was too rude. My boyfriend asked him when the tacos are coming and he answered the ones you see on the menu. It's disrespectful to me. They answer like this when you ask them something, that's why you are a waiter to answer the customer's questions. I don't know the name of the waiter, but I would like you to pay a little attention to the staff they have working.

This is by far, the best mexican food i have ever had. The ceviche aguachile is AMAZING with the freshest seafood. The baja fish tacos and camarones a la diabla was unreal. I will 100% be recommending this place to everyone visiting union market area

Probably one of the best Mexican places I have ever had. I have not stopped talking about this place since I’ve tried it! Literally SO damn good! I had the mussels for an appetizer and it was AMAZING. Brothers combination for the main meal the steak was to die for. Everything was so good even the chips and salsa was bomb but one thing that I really loved was the rice… SO SO SO GOOD! it’s giving 5 star but the inside is a little crowded and small. Other than that everything was delicious.. is a little on the pricey side tho but overall 10/10.

Just delicious! Tacos de canasta one of my favorites dishes at this places, you should try pambazos and chicharrón gorditas… prices are ok, the customer service is good, food the best! Try all hot sauces really good taste! Take care with habanero sauce.
