The bubble tea is great here. Definitely a place to keep coming back to.

My friends and I happened to walk by this spot on a hot day and decided to step in for ice cream. We weren't expecting much, but ended up being surprised by how good the ice cream was! Definitely not cheap, but reasonably priced given the location and size. Would recommend the matcha and coffee flavors!

This place has potential but needs to choose to live up to it. We arrived 45 minutes before closing and it was empty. The inside is clean, but very industrial and with minimal decor. It's a little dinged up... I thought they were closed for improvements recently but I have no idea what they improved. There were only 3 flavors of gelato available when we got there. However, the flavors we got and the bubble waffle itself were really tasty, which is why I'm giving this 3 stars. I would definitely return for the bubble waffle. The bubble tea here though is just not good. Very disappointing and lacking in flavor. You can get better bubble tea in the area. It's worth a visit, but go in with low expectations.

Their bubble waffle is so light and fluffy and has a bit of a mochi like texture! The ice cream is really good too! Their brown sugar boba really hits the spot and is done well. Both are great on the go desserts to eat while touring M street and Georgetown in general!

Egg waffle with ice cream is so great, great variety of selections. boba milk tea is just soso.

This place is in a run down half basement on M street. There are limited seating and it feels a bit empty. However, their homemade ice creams are delicious. I tried the bubble waffle with two flavors of ice cream (nutella and strawberry). They were delicious. Definitely will come again if I'm in georgetown and craving sweets after a meal.

Sugar Lab is so well known in this city for their bubble waffles and boba. I am not typically a fan of this kind of stuff but I have a friends friends that rave about this place so I gave it a shot. My first thought, walking off the cobblstone streets of Georgetown into the white wall ice cream basement was, "Am I in the right spot?" It looked like a mini illegitimate lab. Maybe that's part of the whole "hole in the wall" experience though. It was small and loud, tables were dirty and screaming kids everywhere. The line moved fast but it takes a hot minute for your order to come out. I got the nutella ice cream in a bubble waffle with cinnamon toast crunch on top. Sounds like a dream right? The nutella ice cream was authentic and packed with nutty flavor. I wasn't a huge an but if you are Nutella obsessed you will most likely enjoy. The waffle was good warm and very filling. I was surprised they make it automatically Gluten Free. It's not your typical Belgian waffle, it has a strange offset taste to it I cannot explain, but I personally would order a waffle cone over the bubble waffle. The service was quick and to the point, as it needed to be. I'm fairly certain they make their own ice cream in house, which is very impressive. They had a minimal amount of flavors and no one asked to taste anything, probably because the line was so long. They offer many flavors of milk teas and boba, with the Thai Rose Tea being their most popular. Before visiting, I took a good look at their Yelp page for ideas and all the images seemed like a different location. They must have made a lot of changes to the environment and the menu recently- possibly under new management? Overall, I wouldn't go back. It was a fun one time thing and I could see how if you're into that style dessert you may enjoy it, but it's not for me, nor was the environment a place I'd like to hangout with my friends.

We visited here while on vacation. We just so happen to stumble across it while eating lunch. We loved this place! It was cute and personal. They made everything fresh and it all tasted delicious!!!

I have stopped here twice while walking through Georgetown. Their bubble teas are delicious and refreshing. We always go with the fruit teas and they are perfect on a hot day!

BEST BUBBLE TEA I've had in awhile! I don't know what they put in it but it tastes SO GOOD! I thought it was brown sugar but when I got the brown sugar fresh milk tea from Gong Cha the next day, it was not the same thing and not as good as SUGAR LAB!! I got the oolong milk tea with no ice and less sugar (70%) which was perfect! I don't actually like boba so I didn't get any. And the location is GREAT! in the heart of georgetown, super close to GU, right next to all the shops on M St. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I just moved to the area and think I might be coming here at least once a week lol They also have egg waffles which smell so good as soon as you step into the store. I didn't try them but will probably at some point. It was busy when we went but still got our order within 5min. The place is pretty small but there are some chairs and tables inside.
Every single time I've come to Sugar lab, I've been satisfied. Delicious ice cream, helpful staff. Advice from a frequent flier: always opt for the waffle. Always. Mix creamier flavors of ice cream, like Lychee, with the chocolate waffle for a less overpowering chocolate flavor. Also, stop holding your things above the ice cream counter- something could spill and it's rude to the staff. Be sure to swing in if you're in Georgetown! There's usually a line, but it's always worth it.

Staff refused to make a drink because “it takes to long†and when I asked to sample the ice cream he said I could only try three flavors because there was a line. Very bad customer services. Wish I knew how their product was but I did not even have a chance to try it. I refuse to spend my money where I am not appreciated as a customer.

This place is most deff hidden. And our GPS had us walk right past it. Very small eating area unless there was some hidden in the back I didn't see. The mango fruit tea is was very good but next time I'll stick with regular sugar. My husband liked both the lychee and cooked and cream ice cream very good separate but not together. Lol his brother got the strawberry with blueberry and really really likes it. This place is clean, bright lights and employees are okay. Didn't seem very welcoming

Walked in on a Saturday night. They were pretty much out of everything. Great concept. Poorly run. Shouldn't run out of everything if managed well. Didn't get to try anything since everything we ordered was out. Was very excited to try it though.
