Think Cheers but less grimy and with good food! I stay up the street when I’m in town and this is my goto for a solid meal with friends. It’s open late, the service is great, and the food always hits the spot - which they’ll customize almost anything for you.On any random night you’ll see anyone from college kids in athletic wear to US Senators in suits dining there. Not pretentious. Solid food. Great staff. Go check it out!

Tunnnicliff's is one of the few places in Washington DC that can truly claim to be a neighborhood dive bar. Located right across from the historic Eastern Market, and a brisk walk from the Capitol grounds, it is a very welcome addition to the area. The food is standard-ish bar fair, but much better than you would typically expect. I would say prices are reasonable for the area. Service can be a little hit or miss depending on how busy the patio is, but overall a great spot. I have been going here for a decade.

I’ve never had a bad meal here! The staff are always friendly and helpful. Great for grabbing something to go, late night, or a casual sit down meal.Parking: It’s Eastern Market so parking can be dicey depending on the time.Wheelchair accessibility: The patio is the only wheelchair access.

Had lunch here today. Waitress had zero personality and couldn’t understand that the cups didn’t hold much coke if they were filled to the brim with ice. Ordered a burger, medium, and it came out cooked over well. Patty had zero seasoning. Fries on all of our orders had no salt what so ever. I’d skip this stop all

Decent spot. Food was good. Salads were small, light on the salad. But drinks were good and atmosphere was comfortable.

Cozy pub atmosphere. Busy but not too hard to have a conversation. The sesame crusted tuna on mixed greens was very good and a generous portion. Great ratio of fish to salad. My husband was impressed that the chicken tender appetizer was quite filling. Great dinner and attentive service at a reasonable price!

Tunnicliffs is one of the very few places that has been delicious and consistent with delivery. We have eaten just about half the menu and its always good. THANK YOU for being a dependable place and please don't lower your standards like most restaurants in DC!

We had such an amazing experience here! We were visiting from Florida but were staying close to this location. my daughter (8) loved it so much that we ended up going there 3 times our whole trip! (she is very picky FYI) The staff was amazing and we even had the same waiter two of the three times. He was one of the best servers we've ever had and we are so grateful for his suggestions and patience. Definitely recommend this place for kids or just a night/day out!

I had lunch here for the first time, visiting from Texas, and it was enjoyable. I had the fish and chips which were a little greasy but tasty. My daughter had the seared tuna salad which she enjoyed. My only complaint was the coleslaw was a bit off. It's almost as if they mixed old salad with the new because one bite would be nice and crunchy and the next somewhat mushy. However the waitstaff was very on point.
