I'm not a huge tequila fan, but this was one of the best palomas that I've ever had. Freshly squeezed grapefruit juice was the perfect compliment to the smooth tequila. My husband's marg was equally delicious, and I normally don't even like a marg. Food is classic taqueria style -- street tacos, quesadillas, burritos and the like. My chicken quesadilla came with a huge portion -- four very large pieces that were overstuffed with chicken. My only complaint is it could've used a little something more, like salsa / sour cream / aioli. The tequila section on the menu is very impressive and you can even order a tequila flight which is fun. Service is quick and speedy and there is a decent amount of outdoor seating. This is the perfect spot for a post beach taco and cold libation. I'm sure in the summer it's packed and for good reason. I'd absolutely return.

Spotted this nice looking restaurant while searching for somewhere we had not yet tried. Hoping to find a new go-to place. The outside deck was full of patrons (a good sign) so we decided to try it out. The inside was empty (not a good sign) except for 2 folks at the bar. We were hopeful and sat at a nice little table indoors. The first thing that I tried was a glass of water. I understand that it was city tap water, but this water was not drinkable. It tasted like chlorine. It smelled like chlorine. They did not have any bottled water to take its place. I asked the waiter (who was very attentive and very nice) to remove it. He did. Next came the guacamole. Avocado with maybe a little onion in it. It was ok. The chips were heavy, salty and greasy. I had to request some salsa to accompany it. At this point, we had yet to receive napkins and utensils. They did have quite an extensive Tequila/Mezcal list. It was very pricey so I decided to skip the alcohol for the evening (I do that sometimes anyway). My friend ordered a Mexican coke (made in the USA - ok, not a problem) and 2 shrimp tacos. The 2 tacos arrived. ONE shrimp on each 4" tortilla. It was drowning in red cabbage and had 3 large slices of jalapeño on top. That was it. It must have weighed in at less than an ounce. It did not taste good - mostly like cabbage and jalapeño. I ordered a mixed green salad with corn, quinoa, black beans, cheese and lime juice. There was no other dressing on it - tasted like I was eating a lime. BUT it was ok and I continued eating it until I was greeted by the GNATS. I couldn't finish my salad without ingesting some of these little creatures. When one landed on my nose, I asked for the check. I usually don't write such a negative review on a place, but this is an exception. We will never go back.

My wife and I got a takeout order of the coconut shrimp tacos and an order of beans on Saturday, Sept 25. The food we got was terrible. Each shrimp taco had barely a tablespoon of chopped shrimp and other vegetables. Do not be fooled by the pictures of their food. We're not even sure we got shrimp and not something else. The tacos were also completely cold. The beans contained a mystery meat that might have been pork. We're not Jewish, but If it was pork, they should have said as much so their Jewish customers would be able to know as much in advance. What we got was not pleasant or acceptable and certainly not worth what we paid for it. I urge everyone who reads this review to avoid this place as they are clearly unwilling or unable to provide decent food. This place strongly deserves a "no stars" rating. Perhaps the management will take this message to heart.

The food is superior to most restaurants, let alone touristy spots. They do need some Mexican beer!! I am sending everyone I know here. With the horrible service at the beach this year, this place saved the day. Foodies: this is the spot!!!!

Do not recommend. Service was extremely slow and poor. One of the waitresses was very clearly high. The food was very subpar. Overall it was wayyy overpriced.

We come here every time we visit Dewey. Shrimp tacos and quesadillas are amazing. They also have a great drink selection. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are. We prefer outdoor seating.

Ill always miss the old Dewey Beach Club that is now MezCali, but I thought the menu and drinks were excellent!Best Nachos!Fresh simple mexican tacos that are perfectly made. The Fried Shrimp taco was my favorite but next time I want to try the sqid.Cocktails were excellent! If youre looking for food near the Cove....Never eat at The Rusty Rudder. located near by it can fool you for its water front location but the food has gotten so bad its horrible.

Four stars strictly because of the food it was amazing! Nachos are delicious as well as the birria tacos. I am sad I am only here a few days because I would love to eat here again. Service is awkward tho so awkward that we left at first because we were so uncomfortable. We went to a nearby bar and had a couple of drinks and ordered food to go. So happy we did. None of the things we ordered came with salsa not even a small side so I had to pay $7 for salsa that was a little disappointing. And I ordered a Sangria to go that was not good to many warm spices for a summer like drink. But again the food made up for it. I will definitely order food to go next time I am here.

Heard this was a new place to try. It's fantastic. Great and unique food (I tried the octopus taco and loved it) and great drinks. BEST spicy margarita I ever had, when asked what they do... they indicated they make the habanero simple syrup every morning, and it pays off. Best of all it seems unknown. When there was an hour wait at a number of places, this place had open tables. (They started filling up at around 6:30). They do have outdoor seating. The ONLY downside is that the restaraunt is located mid block, so you have to park on the street before or after and walk a little. Definitely give it a try, especially when there is an hour wait everywhere else.

I had high hopes for this spot, but wasn't super impressed. Came here on vacation. The spot was nice and thankfully not crowded like I was expecting. The mango margarita was really good, I was happy with that! We got chips and salsa, which were good but kinda lame that they charged a whopping $7 for this. I mean seriously? It's chips and salsa... and the waitress came by and tried to pick the tray they came on before we were finished. Also annoying seeing as though they cost so much. Next was the meal. I ordered the birria tacos (if you've ever had these from a legit Mexican spot, you know how good they are). These were totally off. I checked Yelp before ordering to see if anyone else got them before but didn't see and reviews specifically for them. So I took the chance and got them. The meat was the same as what's used for corned beef... not right. Birria tacos should be pulled beef - like beef shank (or traditionally goat meat). Not whatever they served. And the dipping consome was a joke. My boyfriend got the coconut shrimp tacos - which we're not made with "coconut shrimp" in the traditional sense. They had coconut flakes on the shrimp. Which is fine but a little misleading. He liked the tacos and I had a taste and liked them too. They were pretty fresh tasting. All in all, I wouldn't plan on returning. I would if others wanted to come here but personally I was turned off by the pricing and advertising tacos as birria when they are not.

This place was excellent! We went several times during our week in Dewey and everything was great! The nachos were huge and layered properly. We tried chicken, fish and shrimp tacos and they were all delicious. They even had broccoli tacos for a vegetarian member of my family. And the drinks....perfect. The staff was friendly and the place was tidy. We loved it!
