We were one of only three tables in the restaurant when we arrived, but we waited over half an hour after ordering our food for our appetizer to appear, a plate of nachos which had either gone cold or had never been fully heated. After that, the entrees arrived. I got a steak chimichanga, and I recognized both the taste and texture of Steak-ums frozen steak and Kraft Mexican blend cheese. I wouldn't usually be this critical, but after my dinner last night I was unable to sleep for several hours on account of nausea, which has subsided the more time has passed since eating here. I have been a big fan of Fiesta Tapatia and El Nevado for a few years now, and will be sticking with them from now on.

If you look at the photo reviews hard enough, you may be able to see how the food has no seasoning. The food had no flavor at all and it was pretty disappointing. I didn't take a photo because I was really hungry and wanted to eat, but you probably would have been able to see the lack of flavor in my photo as well had I included on in this review. Service was quick, the waiter waS very friendly and even took a photo for us when we finished eating by request. Nice atmosphere and location, but I won't be returning. 4.3 stars was clickbait

The food was fine and the server was friendly, but it took forever. Mexican food usually comes out fast, but not at this restaurant. I cannot recommend this place.

Welp.... I never leave reviews BUT this was the worse mexican food I've ever had!! No seasoning, I'm not sure what was going on with the rice but it wasn't spanish rice, AND the milk they had for cheese dip didn't even come with enough chips.

Something changed. Previous meal wasn't great but this last meal was inedible. Lukewarm frijoles, lukewarm everything, so my food must have been inexpertly microwaved or heated up. The rice was hard and lumpy. But the booby prize was the tamale. It was cement-like and the meat filling smelled old and stale. One bite convinced me that there was no reason to eat it and every reason not to. It obviously had been made days (weeks?) before and kept past its expiration date. Dried out, and possibly spoiled. I paid over $10 for this meal and essentially ate a quarter cup of lukewarm canned bean preparation with no spice or cheese even. And nobody asked or said anything and the place was about empty as you can get. I see now perhaps why that is. Alas, won't be back and cannot recommend. It's such a cute place inside and I love Mexican, Southwestern and related cuisines but this place is too unreliable any more to visit.

Brought the family for my son's birthday. All our meals were amazing, and the food came quickly. I asked about gluten free options, and had the mixed enchiladas, which I love. We got chips and guacamole, fried bananas, nachos, burritos (beef and al pastor), and tacos (fish and shrimp), and can recommend all of it. We are definitely returning.

I had sixteen family members coming for lunch. 8 of which were coming from out of state. Since they all love Tacos, I decided on making that. I wanted to give Los Portales a try for some sides. Eric was very helpful when I called and when I met him in person he was so gracious, being so kind and patient with my million questions. I decided on the re-fried beans, Mexican Rice, Picco de Gallo, green sauce & their very hot red sauce. When it came time to pick up, everything was ready and piping hot. They even brought it out to my car! My family loved and raved about it all! Said it was the best they ever had! I highly recommend Los Portales! And kudos to whomever the AMAZING Chef is! I cannot say enough great things about Los Portales! I was having a large family gathering. Ten of the Sixteen we're coming from out of state. They all are big Taco fans. So I decided to order re-fried beans, Mexican Rice, Picco de Gallo, their house green sauce and their very hot hot sauce. Eric was SO helpful and informative but most of all so kind and patient with me asking a million questions. When I picked up it was all ready on time, piping hot and they even carried it to my car. The food was delicious!! My family loved it and said it was the best they ever had. I highly recommend Los Portales and to whoever is the AMAZING Chef there deserves accolades!
