Incredibly friendly staff. Tasty food (my first chicken and waffles). Good mix of locals and tourists (always a good sign). I was there for breakfast but there seems to be a well-stocked bar. But it's the staff that would make me want to go back.
We were in Rehoboth beach for an errand, and considered lunch at a nearby seafood place - it was not open yet. Luckily for us, across the street was Sunny Bay Cafe, which looked like it might be okay. Okay? We were very pleasantly surprised. We entered a simple looking place that looked almost like a diner, but with a bar. Connie, who seems to run the place, greeted us and offered drinks with the menu. The menu was extensive, loaded with specials, and we settled on a bowl of crab soup, a salad ,a gyro, and some fries. The Greek salad included the usual feta, olives onion over lettuce with a nice dressing. The crab soup was delicious, and so bountiful we ended up bringing almost a pint home after eating our fill. My gyro was good, and the side of fries was enormous, fresh and hot. The table of local gents near us was discussing their golf games and the woeful fact that they were banished from the house as the wives had a cookie making party. They dined on waffles, and chipped beef on toast - a large serving. The group of women at another nearby table were served huge plates of antipasto, omelets, and more I couldn't see. We grinned at the casual comfort of the establishment, and marveled at the generous soup & fries. We will make it a point to revisit Sunny Bay soon. We need to explore more of the specials
Sunny Bay cafe was a real find. It was packed on a Saturday morning off season but our server was incredibly kind and attentive. Because of the volume, the service was slow, but worth the wait. The sour cream and chive tots were surprisingly creamy for a tot, with creamy centers. We ordered sausage gravy biscuits, vegetable crepe and a combination platter. The vegetable crepe had a nice vegetable to crepe ratio. My table mates cleaned their plates so I’m guessing they loved it. This would be a five star review if it didn’t take so long, but I’m not sure that’s fair because the kitchen can’t control the volume of people there.
Best breakfast anywhere! Great service, clean and friendly! Had the ham and Swiss crepe and it was fabulous!
Excellent food. Chicken salad on pita for husband. Mimosa, eggs and bacon on English muffin and biegets for dessert. Everything had marvelous flavor. Waitress so friendly staff efficient. Very pleasant atmosphere.
First time in Sunny Bay and LOVED it. Everyone’s meal was really good. I had an egg sandwich with cheese and sausage on a bagel. I was worried the eggs would be runny but they were cooked nicely. The sausage was yummy. Ordered fresh fruit and yogurt, the fruit was delicious. An order of cream cheese stuffed French toast was Devine. The toast was thick and moist. Loved the filling and it was topped with fruit. We are coming here again and again. A Saturday morning spicy Bloody Mary was perfect.
Adorable spot. Very friendly & welcoming staff . Local spot . Husband and I had a delicious post boardwalk run breakfast . I had the veggie omelette , it was huge and perfectly cooked ! Husband had the waffle platter. He really loved it . Now let's talk about the price ... very surprised a large , delicious breakfast and our bill. Come here for breakfast or lunch !
A solid breakfast place in Rehoboth Beach. They have a fairly large dining room with outdoor seating as well. They do blast the AC, so dress accordingly. My girls always bring a sweater or hoodie with them so they were okay. I did enjoy my crab omelet - it's just a cheese omelet with lump crabmeat inside. I would of liked some Old Bay seasoning in the egg but there was a lot of crab meat inside. My daughter really enjoyed the Stuffed French toast but couldn't finish it as its huge! It was pretty tasty though. The S'mores crepe was well presented but boy it was way too sweet. Next time I am going to try their breakfast crepe.
Nice clean place, very popular. Like many places post Covid or loss of student labor, Sunny Bay was understaffed today plus had new staff with little to no experience. Nice selection of omelette, crepes and basic breakfasts. Home fries were boiled potatoes with chopped onions. Home fries barely were barely browned gulag quality. Scrapple overcooked, carbonized. Grits not on menu? The coffee was very good and refills were done by attentive waitress. This is our first experience at Sunny Bay and we will try again on next visit to Rehobeth.
The staff is friendly, the service is great, & the food is always good. The portions are large, you will not leave hungry.
Awesome food, amazing atmosphere and yummy drinks too! Check'em out you won't be disappointed. The cream chipped beef is so good and the Bloody Mary's (chef's kiss)
Great menu. The service and the food is nothing short of outstanding! I definitely recommend this place whenever you are in Rehoboth Beach.
We happened to charge upon Sunny Bay and what a find! Great food at great value prices, staff were amazing, altogether brilliant
Great service. Great food. Sat at the bar and bartender was wonderful and made a perfect Bloody Mary. Will be back for sure.
