We ended up here when another restaurant had a 2 hour wait, and we’re glad it did! Blue Hen was fantastic. Every app, entree and dessert was delicious. Our server was great. The atmosphere was perfect.

We had a great meal. The fried chicken was amazing. It’s some of the best I have ever had. It was also nice to see corzetti pasta on the menu. You don’t find it state side often. We will be definitely going back.

Regular visitor to Rehobeth and I will 100% confirm that this is a dream come true. Our group was beyond impressed. We had Katia look after us and she was superb. dishes: raw seafood special ($54ish) 5/5, soft shell crab 5/5, Manhattans 5.5, value for money 5/5, kids food was excellent. Highly highly recommend. I ended up getting a generous gift card for our hosts as a reflection of how much I think of this place.

It's definitely worth a visit for dinner or lunch. The food and service were outstanding. The menu is seasonal, so don't miss out on something you think looks good. Portions are large, and you could probably just share a large plate and an app. Dessert was also way too big for one person. The lobster toast was amazing. The fried green tomatoes desperately needed salt or old bay. The angel food cake was great but overly sweet.

The Blue Hen, connected to Rehoboth Beach’s The Avenue Inn and Spa, is as good as any five-star destination restaurant I’ve indulged anywhere in the U.S., including NYC, Vegas and Palm Springs. The experience was superlative, from resplendent ambiance and efficient team service to the exquisite food. My pal and I started with a half-dozen East Coast oysters, which were petite but delicious; and for entrees, I had the rich and robust Mafaldine, with “pasta ribbons, bacon, artichokes, lemon, cream and pecorino,” while he had seared diver scallops, which were enormous and exceptionally meaty. Utter perfection!

Phenomenal soft crabs, crispy and prepared inventively with orange and some Indian flavored spice, and a corn based stuffing. Dare I say this, but even better than the soft crabs at Heirloom. Congrats to the Chef!!!

We checked into The Avenue Hotel & Spa on Friday evening and slipped right into The Blue Hen for a late dinner. The atmosphere is always really nice there and so is the staff. We sat at a hightop in the bar area. Lighting was just right, gas fires were running outside but it was drizzling, so we stayed in. Dining room was busy. The crowd is always a mix of visitors and locals with a happy, festive feel. We had hoped to watch the Women's Final Four but the bar crowd was already engaged in soccer and a dog show on the monitors. (note that this is probably not the ideal place to watch a game and the bar team isn't in tune with the current interests in sports). The food was excellent - really fresh! I had the beet salad minus the cheese and a shrimp cocktail that was accompanied by house made cocktail sauce. This made for the perfect gluten free-dairy free meal. My husband enjoyed his generously sized and yummy burger. As a Blue Hen alum, this place always gives me the warm and fuzzies with its blue hen adored plates, and beautiful wall art tribute. We always make it a point to stop here when in Rehoboth.

The service was gracious and pleasant and the food was divine! I had steak tartare which was the perfect combination with bone marrow but not greasy at all and just the right amount of garnish. For dessert we shared the flourless chocolate cake which had peanut cream on top which I’d never had but it could have used a dollop of whipped cream, otherwise perfect! The bar was also fun beforehand. I love the dishes and glassware and the general ambience was very appealing.

Great meal on a winter Thursday night! We had oysters, poached pear salad, baked Brie, and grilled octopus- all appetizers- plus cocktails. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. Also wheelchair accessible.

Four of us at dinner and everyone loved everything! The roasted carrots were an appreciated vegetable appetizer and so delicious! Beet salad also great but the mushroom/truffle sauce on homemade pasta was the best thing I've had in a long time! Nice varied wine list and a server who looked like she enjoyed what she was doing! It was a very busy Saturday night so it was noisy.

A group of us went there for dinner. We shared several appetizers. We loved the caramelized cauliflower. It was pasta night and several of us had the pasta with mushrooms. It was amazing. We all said how great it was. For dessert we had the carrot cake and it was wonderful.

We have been staying at the Avenue and had never been to the Blue Hen and it is right in the hotel opens at 4:00pm nice impressive menu, we don't normally in when they open we will hav eaten and before we get back. But this time made plans to check it out. Nice inside kind of dark most of the people were eating outside on the patio. We didn't order food we had drinks in the bar area, good drinks, next will dine in.

Ate here after hearing good things from a variety of people. We used to, and still do, stay at the Avenue Inn, but hadn't since the restaurant opened. So glad we ate here.Service was good, server friendly without being overly familiar and was knowledgeable about the menu and wines.Cocktail was well mixed and tasted great. The fried oysters with basil pesto were delicious (pictured). My wife had the acorn squash soup, also amazing. The flank steak (pictured) was cooked perfectly medium rare and paired with the red shishito peppers was a surprisingly good combination. We enjoyed a passion fruit cheesecake where the fruit flavor balanced the richness of the base cheesecake.Overall a good experience and when we return to Rehoboth next year, we'll definitely eat here again.

We had appetizers of fried oysters and lobster toast. Lobster toast was superb. Sat at the bar and service was very good. We got turned on to Mary Thomas Chardonnay!
