Staff isn't very friendly if you're not a regular. They ignored us. Chicken tenders were stringy I had 2 on my plate and was going to take them home for my dog but the waitress just took them without asking if I wanted a box.

Great food and atmosphere. Service was excellent as well. We sat outside which was very pleasant. Inside looked super cute. Restrooms were also very clean

Chicken tenders were so bad. Definitely frozen and pre breaded. Not house made.Everything else from the salads and sandwiches looked amazing. But I had to order the tenders. Major

Ordered the Fish & chips. Fish was bland, as well as looked and tasted as if it was frozen pre-breaded cod. The server was great though.

Absolutely my most favorite chicken salad sandwich ever! I've tried to re-create this chicken salad at home, and it's just never as good. Cavanaugh's always has delicious food - my husband's grilled chicken BLT sandwich was delicious as was his fries. I just love this place!

I came here with my mom for lunch a couple of days ago. She used to work downtown years ago and highly recommended Cavanaugh's, so I agreed to meet her. My first impression is that the architecture was beautiful. It was a little too traditional for my tastes, but the high ceilings and the greenery surrounding them made them a little more modern. The dining placements were odd. It felt more like cafe seating than a restaurant - walking through tight tables to get to your own. Their food menu mostly consists of pub/bar food. I ordered the cheesesteak without horseradish and mushrooms and my mother requested one their salads. The salads looked good and my mom enjoyed it, but I was disappointed with the cheesesteak. I like to order meals plain so that I can taste the quality of the food without it hiding behind other ingredients, then depending on how good it is I'll return and order the same thing without any alterations. This was not the case. The cheesesteak was dry and bland and had mushrooms. The fries that accompanied it were cold and just OK in terms of taste. I ate two bites of the cheesesteak and finished off the fries and that was my lunch. My mom tried the cheesesteak and she decided to take it home for herself, but also agreed it was dry and bland. I believe the entire platformed dining area had one server. She was nice and didn't linger for too long. I expected the food here to be good since it was downtown and with so many competitors within feet of this place, but maybe I came here at the wrong time or with the wrong intentions. Maybe this is just a nice place to grab drinks with friends.

Cheesesteak sub was delicious!! They have those hard to find real fountain cokes. That alone would take me there! The old historical building is worth experiencing. Service was outstanding. The carry out was booming when I was having lunch.

I have lunch at Cavanaughs 1-2 times a week. I've been going there for the last 6 years. The food is outstanding. I love all of their salads but the sandwiches and soups are great too. The servers are very attentive. The location and atmosphere make it fun. It's in a turn of the century candy store. Tim, the owner/manager is friendly and makes sure your meal is enjoyed.

I work in Wilmington and usually go here an average of once a week. They are only open M-F for lunch. Their salads are the best and the sandwiches are great too. The atmosphere is very nice and Tim the owner/manager is on top of things. The waitstaff, particularly Amy and Sofia are very friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable. I love going here for lunch!

I have been dining at Cavanaugh's for several years. It's a restaurant with ample seating that has lovely historical architectural charm inside. The food is always great. I've never had a dish that I didn't like. The specials are always changing which gives you a nice variety to choose from. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food on your plate. The staff is always courteous and friendly. My glass never goes empty. All in all its a great place to go for a great meal.Wheelchair accessibility: Groundfloor entrance. No ramps needed.
