The food here is always great but I have a small problem with the professionalism of the employees. This woman was talking on her personal cell phone while taking my order and continued to use her phone even while she filled up my drink from the soda fountain. First visit to an Ike's. It was outside seating, which was fine. Place is a bit stark inside and had only one employee. I had the Matt Cain sub and it was extremely good! I went with the world famous Dutch bread - don't know what this is but it was out of this world delicious! The sandwiches are good size but they are also fairly expensive at $12. Still, one of the beat subs I've had in a while so I'm looking forward to a return visit!
A wonderful touch of home while being afar...As a San Francisco Bay Area resident, to my surprise, I saw the Ike's sign while driving by and like a mirage, I just couldn't believe my eyes. South Florida once thriving with food options (pre-Andrew) has become very monolithic; one type of food dominates and there's little chance of diverse food or any type of new introductions.
