Everytime I go to this Poppos location I am more and more displeased and disappointed. I’m a long time fan of this taqueria, but to anyone reading this, don’t even bother going past 6pm.Let’s start with an experience we had a couple of weeks ago. This location advertises that they close at 9 pm. To me, this means that we should be fine and dandy to order take out / to go food at 8 pm. We’d be wrong. The staff member that night told us they were completely out of chimi aioli sauce and guacamole (selfishly, two of our favorite things to order to complete our meals.)But, nonetheless, we love the food so we keep coming back.Tonight’s experience is what topped the cake. We came in at 7:45 (more than an hour before closing time.) We walked in and the two young boys working failed to greet us and took their sweet time to get gloves and aprons on- very obviously disappointed to see guests walking in.The first thing they said to us was “Just so you know the only meats we have left is steak and a little bit of chicken.”Almost implying “You should just leave now…”The meat that they did have (that we could literally see in front of us) looked like it had been sitting out all day….Then, there was hardly enough rice for one burrito… it’s a good thing we didn’t both order rice!After the two boys finally finished our burrito and quesadilla, we both had to literally spit out over half of our bites because the steak was so fatty as well as undercooked.Additional to our poorly prepared food, the place is disgusting and horribly maintained. I’m not sure if the young boys were just being lazy at the end of their shift- but if they were in such a hurry to get the place closed down by 9 o’clock sharp, they could have focused on wiping down the tables or taking out the trash in the restrooms… for starters- instead of hindering the food quality experience of paying customers.I’ve never been one to leave a nasty review, and I certainly would not do this unless my experience was really worth the complaint- but now we have had a poor experiences on several occasions and likely will not be returning for another chance.I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The food here is just delicious - carefully prepared, very clean food. The bowl was amazing -- really good quacamole (which they should tell you costs extra) and excellent pico de gallo. My bowl was a bit expensive ($13) for fast food, but the quality of the ingredients makes it worth it. We ordered tortilla chips and they made them fresh immediately -- sooo good. And they serve cold beer! Can't beat this place.

Amazing, clean and fresh food in the heart of Sarasota. I stumbled upon this food joint while shopping and was truly blown away. I like the fact that they also have two sizes to choose from. I opted for the small rice bowl with chicken and their heavenly toppings such as cilantro, salsa and corn. There are so many other options such as tacos, burritos, chips and salsa or guacamole. they also have a range of tasty sodas. I got the guava soda and it really hit the spot.

Kills me to say this but my favorite fast food place has gone nuts. Not only have they shrunk the size of every item in half they've doubled the price. I paid $25 for 2 tiny tacos, chips, no guacamole, and a small drink. Plus tip. By far freshest ingredients but unfortunately they are always out of them. No cilantro. No feta. No carne asada. Did I say no guacamole. By far best item always out. Used to serve plenty hot chips. With guacamole. Now they count the chips in to the fryer. And no guacamole. This is fast food man. $25 is ridiculous

Over all basic! The kids Poppo’s Taqueria has work couldn’t care less about me and my order! My girl friend and I asked for different add on’s to my order and when paying we asked the girl at the register to tell us which one we witch she got it wrong!! End up biting into something I didn’t want!! So many choices at this location DO NOT BOTHER!Never come back here! I’m a far man this was terrible!

These guys have very delicious burritos! Healthy, fresh and very very good. They heat up fresh tortilla dough and have carne asada, ancho chicken, and carnitas. I like the chicken the best. Their guac is very delicious. And don't forget sour cream. They remind you how nice it goes with all the "fixins."They have quite a bit of locations. If you are a burrito, quesadilla, or taco fan I think that you will like theirs. They also have the unique gourmet soda at the fountain with real cane sugar and bottled kombucha..
