I spent a Friday morning here. It was super quiet with plenty of time to enjoy each piece of art. It fit in beautifully with the reading I've been doing lately - "A Land Remembered" and anything by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. If I'd seen this art (especially the mural at the beginning with native Florida plants) sooner, I would have been able to better visualize what I read. Here's to Florida!
I visited on a Tuesday afternoon in October. It was a beautiful day and I hesitated leaving the Beach. I am glad I did.Besides myself, the only other people in the galleries were two security people. It was all most like they were following me. The Collection is very well presented and the Gallery space is about right for the size of the Collection. I was impressed that not only some major artist were represented but some of the very talented little Known were all so represented.....
This is a fine museum of Florida art. Some reviewers have called it small, which is misleading - for a single-subject museum it is actually quite large. Wonderful collection of Floridiana.
