Food was not good. I went with 5 other people. We ordered the firecracker shrimp, sliders, smoked tuna, the “award winning” gumbo, and the oysters. The gumbo was the worst I ever had in my life! The only item decent was the oysters everything else sucked!!!! Waitress was very nice tho. Oh and the drinks sucked too. Please do not waste your money. Go to crab trap

I am ONLY GIVING THESE 5 STARS TO THE UPSTAIRS PART OF AJ's.I'll keep the negatives short. We walked into downstairs AJs and no one said hello to us but we asked if we could have a table for two. They grabbed menus and walked us to our table with out one sound or word. We sat at the table for 13 minutes. Not one person recognized us, or said they would be right there...in fact the three tables around us had their drink orders, app orders and their tables cleaned while we sat there. Another server grabbed a broom and swept around the section but still not one word...we got up and walked out.With that being said, AJs up stairs vibe, staff and help was the exact opposite. Very kind, fast and helpful. It was like they were two different restaurants. Nicolette was absolutely incredible! She was promot, funny, attentive. She was just an overall great server and good at her job! The food was perfect. We had the Trio Dip, fish tacos and the platter. All were well cooked and perfect to eat along the water. The band was playing great music. We will be back to the upstairs version of AJ's and thank you Nicolette! (Sorry if I'm spelling your name wrong)

This place is disgusting. I went here today with four other people and ordered the AJ’s House Sandwich… it was disgusting. First of all, it doesn’t specify what kind of fish it is on the menu but I will tell you that it is the thinnest piece of garbage fish you can find. It tasted like dirty water and it was caked in seasoning. We got the Trio Dip appetizer to share and that came out in probably 5 minutes… it tasted like canned tuna fish that was poorly seasoned three different ways and it was barely touched. Then we went inside and got another round of drinks. My sister ordered the Jack Monkey which was so gross that we all tried it and it was sent back. Then we started to look around while waiting for the check and noticed how disgusting this place is. Once we noticed the fan above us that was caked in dust we started to notice how everything else was dirty. Don’t waste your money on an overpriced dirty place
My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the price! It's a bit high at $29.95 for 1 1/2lb Crawfish Boil w/two potatoes, one corn, & one sausage piece, plus $20/pound after that. But on a perfect Sunday afternoon on the water, it's hard to complain! The crawfish were done perfectly and the service was great. Just the right amount of spice goes great with one of their signature cocktails! You definitely need to try it.
