The food here is the best that can be found in Destin. Outside dining has a great view of the harbor.
Outstanding food and service. Highly recommend the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon!
Had a wonderful time. I had made a 4:00 reservation and traffic was horrible and we walked in late. The hostesses told me no reason to apologize and sat us immediately. Our server was funny and thought of everything. Best pecan crusted snapper I’ve ever eaten. View was perfect and had a wonderful time. Thank you all for being gracious, accommodating, and above all providing an absolutely delicious experience!!!
All the seafood was very fresh and delicious!! Our server, Alex, had wonderful suggestions from the menu and we loved every bite! The view was breathtaking!!
I was excited to see redfish had just came in for the fresh catch! It was The Worst fish I had ever eaten!!….Tried to eat. I love redfish but this fish was rubbery & had stringy stretchy fat bands running all thru it, I had to cut it with a knife to even get it to come apart. Redfish is supposed to be sweet & buttery, I have enjoyed it many times. Taste was Terrible!!! I will Never go there again, my husbands reddish was fried & tough but not rubbery with stretchy bands running through it. Come On!, the price you pay here you at least expect to be able to eat it which I could not do! The fish was obviously too big to eat or filleted wrong. Never wrote a restaurant review before but I am giving you an honest review of the ‘fresh catch redfish today’.
We ate here 3 times while on vacation. The wait staff was very friendly. Drinks were delicious. Jack Scallops appetizer is a must! We tried a variety… peel & eat shrimp, filet, crab(pricey) pecan crusted snapper⭐️, grouper sandwich, salads & key lime pie. All were worth having!
The best food in the area. I had the jack scallops and my husband had the fried shrimp. Both dishes were fantastic and the service was great. The watermelon margarita with the hint of jalapeño was wonderful as well.
One of my favorite seafood restaurants on the Emerald Coast! My family has always received great service from here over the years we have been in the Destin area. Always make sure to bring a jacket if dining at night and seated outside — it gets cold! For starters, the hot crab dip is good. We never seem to have enough crackers to eat all of it, so one of us usually eats the rest with a spoon.I always get the stuffed shrimp. You have the option to get it fried or broiled — I always get it fried. There are 5 shrimp altogether, THEY ARE LARGE. But they are also very flavorful, as they are stuffed with blue crab meat dressing and is wrapped in bacon! I highly recommend it. On the side, they have great hush puppies and fries. Surprisingly, they have good salads as well.Again, we have always had great servers. So Dewey Destin’s never disappoints! Check this place out if in the area!
Really great seafood place on the coast! This place has many traditional favorites and a few fresh twist dishes. The hush puppies are incredible - make sure to get some. The main point here is FRESH! The varieties change daily based on the catch and seasonal items. If you can get on the deck and watch the sunset and eat dinner it’s a truly great Destin experience. This place is uber busy so eat early or late or expect to wait a long time. Enjoy!
First trip to Destin, Florida with my wife and two teenage daughters. Being from Kentucky, we were eagerly looking forward to some seafood feasting (“fresh” seafood in eastern Kentucky involves cafeteria fish sticks or McDonalds Fillet O’Fish). This restaurant was highly recommended by friends and the condo owner where we stayed. There are two Dewey restaurants: one on the pier at Calhoun road and the main restaurant on Harbor boulevard (we ate at the Harbor Boulevard site). Seating and service were fast and courteous. The outside bar service window was a nice touch; we were able to have drinks while we waited on our table…Pineapple martini and Destin Ale were absolutely sinfully delicious with Shirley Temples for the girls. Appetizers started with crab cakes and seafood gumbo. The crab cakes were good while the seafood gumbo was spicy and flavorful (very generous on the seafood portions in the gumbo). Triple Tail fish platter (bronzed) was mouth watering light flaky fish comparable to snapper (but milder and slightly sweet). Snow crab legs were very good (my daughter’s go to safe seafood order). My oldest daughter and I shared the “mates plate” with fried mahi mahi, scallops and shrimp. All three portions were large, fried perfectly and absolutely delicious. We finished the course off with turtle cheesecake, key lime pie and two molten chocolate lava cakes. The perfect end to a great meal. I wish I could provide more detail, but I’m afraid I am slipping into a fatty dad coma…and I’m ok with that. Truly recommend this establishment, but COME HUNGRY or plan t have leftovers!! We will definitely eat here again.
Great views, great service, good food. Only 2 bathrooms for the whole place. The new potatoes are plain unseasoned boiled red potatoes, do not recommend those. However the tuna and grouper were fantastic. Meal for 2 was close to $100.
We had such a great food experience we went 2 nights in a row! One was birthday dinner and other was just to try something else on the menu. The waitress and waiter both nights were fantastic. We waited in the side garden a very short time.
Great food, wonderful servers and excellent location. One of our favorite restaurants in Destin. Ask for the outside table on the private deck!
Great meal and some awesome grouper. It was a little chilly on the enclosed deck but so worth it for great food. Love the history of this place.
We loved the food. We sat outside and loved the experience. Our waiter was amazing. His. Name was Aleksander
