Thai Basil was our favorite Thai restaurant in Destin, however, they recently cut the portions of the curry soup dishes in half. They are now serving the dinner portion curry dishes in a small appetizer size soup container. I hope they change the containers back to the full size soup containers.

Last week I was in Fl, I stopped by Thai Basil for lunch and ordered “Ba Mee Hang”, The flavor of the dish is not my taste because it has a sweet kick to it. If anyone doesn’t mind the savory and sweet taste in your food - this Maybe your dish. However, I share a small bowl of the meatball noodles with my sister and it was DELICIOUS! The meatball was perfect, nothing like the frozen one. I highly recommend the meatball noodles if you have a chance to come to this place.
Delicious food at a reasonable price. Had the Panang Curry, Rad Nah noodle, and Drunken noodle- all with Thai hot heat. Everything was perfect and the heat was done well. Will definitely order from again.

The food was good and the portion size was reasonable. So, why only 3 stars?First, as people have pointed out, they add 18% gratuity to ALL diners, not just larger parties. I've never seen a restaurant do that. Then, she had the gall to justify it by saying Destin is a tourist spot so restaurants commonly do it. I don't know that tourists notoriously stiff servers, but more to the point, I was eating with someone who has lived in Destin most of her life and said she's never heard of a restaurant doing that for a party of two.But what really actually ruined our dining experience was the way our server literally wrapped up our food and ushered us out at 8:30 (closing time). Normally, if a restaurant's hours say they close at 8:30, that means that they lock the doors at 8:30...or maybe switch to take-out only at 8. But, I've never been to a restaurant where "closing at 8:30" means everyone has to literally leave at 8:30. Those are the things which ruined our desire ever to return.

It's good though, as the waitress informed you upon getting the bill that the 18% gratuity is included, making it sound like she's doing you a favor or something. The garlic chicken, Thai basil noodles and tofu fresh roll looks good as well. We ordered crispy chicken with side of steamed veggies instead of rice, medium spicy and a pad Thai with tofu, Thai hot. $34.87 with the tip. The condiments: Prik Nam Pla, dried red pepper and peanuts. The pad Thai is good, flavorful and nicely pan fried. The crispy chicken looks better than it tasted, it was definitely crispy, the breading was super light. However, the chicken was way overcooked for sure, reminiscent of jerky, but the sauce has good flavor to it at least. Stick with the Pad Thai unless you don't mind a bit of overcooked, but flavorful chicken with the crispy garlic chicken. Service was good.

Someone from this merchant was trying to charge my card, even though I have never been there... transaction vendor stated was THAI BASIL DESTIN. I would be wary about using my card there.
Food was delicious, excellent flavor. We order our food Thai hot and it comes just about thai hot but the flavor is great!Crab Rangoon, vegetable spring rolls, pineapple thai fried rice with chicken and Panang Curry are our absolute favorites!

We love Thai Basil, not only is the staff kind but the food is amazing. It's a very small, low key restaurant but we prefer that to the tourists traps around. Definitely recommend!

In the middle of my meal a German cockroach ran out beside my table. Living in Florida I have learned that when you one, there are many. This is disgusting and my friend left the table to eject his meal. I was give a small discount though we were both unable to eat our food.
