This is a restaurant that you just have to be really familiar with Gainesville to even know it exists. It is tucked at the end of a road way over by the ymca on the north side of town. Blink and you will miss it. But once you get there it is surprisingly pleasant. It has a vast menu and a big outdoor seating area and the staff are very attentive and friendly. This is the best Mexican restaurant in town! Growing up having authentic Mexican food from home this is by far the closest thing to home. Their carne asada is by far the best, as that is my go to meal. I also tried their tacos. Their shrimp tacos had exquisite flavor. The shrimp had a great size and juice to them. New Mexican restaurant in town. We like to check out new places from time to time and I believe Las Maracas is a great place to check out. Food is great, drinks are perfect, and the service was great as well. Location doesn't do it justice, but I would highly recommend. If your looking for great Mexican food, Las Maracas is a great place to start.
