La Española Pizzas

This is a tiny little family run Cuban place, famous for its "Cuban Ice Cream Sandwich". I first tried it at Yelp's Disco event and I fell in love with it! My friends and I were looking for dessert at 10pm the other day and it was opened, so we stopped by to get their ice cream. The bocaditos is basically ice cream sandwiched between thin sugar cake. If you don't know it's there, you won't find it. It's hidden in a old gas station turned pawn shop. It seems to be know for two things, bocaditos (ice cream sandwiches) and Cuban pizza. We only had the ice cream and I had no idea what to expect, but that first bite of the dulce de leche was like nothing I've ever tasted before. The place is a whole in a wall with not too much hygiene and barely no parking space BUT the pizzas are pretty good, not great. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the Bocaditos de Helado are so bomb. They tasted just the way I remembered from back in the day in Cuba. If you're looking for your childhood bocaditos de helado from Cuba, Tio Colo is definitely the place to go!
