Really good, really German food in a small, comfortable, family-run place. We'll make it an annual stop on our visit to IRB.

Everything was excellent from the time I called to make a reservation! The owner provided detailed instructions on where to find the restaurant and that the restaurant was cash only. So please disregard any reviews that knock stars off for the restaurant being cash only because they couldn't make it any clearer including signs on the door when you walk in. The restaurant is super cozy and the family working in the restaurant is so friendly, taking the time to thoroughly answer any questions about the menu. The food was out of this world amazing! The portions are large and we took plenty home for lunch tomorrow ? We really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to come back!

I've been to my fair share of German restaurants across the USA. The Sauerbraten here is the best I have ever had. Perfect. My wife had the Jaegersnitzel and she loved it. The applestudel for dessert was heavenly. They have an extensive German beer menu. This is a Family run business. Our servers "The Sisters" were as professional as can be. The prices are fair, and can be considered downright cheap if you're from NY or LA. I can't say enough good things about the food, the service, and whomever is working the kitchen, that person has some serious skills. We'll be back. Remember to call first for reservations. My Wife and I didn't have a reservation, but they squeezed us in at a small table. (Thankfully)

I follow KETO Diet and most of the german food is good for you like cabbage and sauerkraut. This place is small with 12 to 15 tables so you should make a reservation. It appears to be homemade cooking as I have had the pumpkin soup and the beef vegatable and it was very good.

My husband and I finally checked this place out this evening and WOW! We are already looking forward to our next meal here. Authentic, flavorful, and all around delicious German food. The girl that waited on us tonight was so sweet. She said her mom was in the kitchen. Love supporting a local family restaurant. This place is a true gem.

We called the same day for reservations, we were able to get a table for two at 7:00 pm. We have been here before in the past two years. Food was excellent as always. My husband got the bratwurst mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. I got the jagerspietzel. Pork I with the noodles and sauerkraut. Service was great and the atmosphere was so pleasant. Can't wait to go again.

Can I give this place 7 stars? No? Drats; it's deserving. The dining experience at German Bistro 2 is outstanding. Forewarning: they only take cash. so hit the ATM before dinner. They're a small establishment so you may want to call for reservations. Also, they serve only bottled beer, but great German labels. Now onto the important part, the food. In a word: AMAZING. They start you with homemade bread and herbed butter. Crusty on the outside, soft & delicious on the inside. A bowl of peppery cole slaw comes along to start your meal. If you think the free starters sound good, just wait. The menu is small but every dish is made to order, and clearly made by hand. We had the special: beef rouladen with spaetzle noodles & gravy, and potato pancakes (a menu staple). The beef was fork-tender and served with a rich wine gravy. Spaetzle was light & buttery, made & served in a traditional German manner. The potato pancakes were unlike anything else I've tasted and easily the best I've ever had. They are HUGE, thick, and dense. The potato pancakes must be deep-fried because they have a crisp crust but are moist inside. Served with sour cream & apple sauce, these will be the best you'll ever had as well. The dessert menu looks incredible but we were unable to try it. The portion sizes are very generous, and we had no room for dessert at the end of the meal. Service was very good, and very friendly. This is a small, local, family-owned & operated joint that is worth any & every rave review. We will be going back for sauerbraten & schnitzel, no doubt. If you like stick-to-your-ribs comfort food and German fare in particular, this is your spot. If you don't yet, expand your palette & stop in; you'll be glad you did!!

Good food but the service was slow (but very friendly) very overpriced in my opinion though

What a find!!! Little hole in the wall in a strip plaza but you step into mamas kitchen. Ambiance is old world, small seating area…make a reservation. For food we had kartolellpuffers, goulash and schnitzel’s with potato salad, schpatzel, and salads. Bread and butter with coleslaw starts things off. This food was amazing, big portions, very tasteful coupled with the ambiance and proud daughter boasting bout mamas cooking just added to a great meal. Dessert Heisse Liebe and double baked cheesecake was incredible. The daughter let us use the ornate beer steins for pictures. You can hear mama in the back pounding out the schnitzel…ambiance ambiance !!

This place was such a refreshing treat! The food was really fresh with good flavors. Everything from the snitchzel to the potato salad and red cabbage we're really good. The mother daughter team were so great. Great food, even better service! We will definitely be back.

Pleasant welcoming eager to please staff. Uncomplicated menu made it easy to decide your order. Generous portions. We both enjoyed our meals and look forward to trying other dishes. It seems to be a popular place and seating is limited. Reservations are highly recommended. The only reason for 4 stars is it is cash only despite what is published online. If we hadn't called to make reservations we would not have known until there to read the sign on the door.

This place is SO cute!! Cash only...family run. I didn't realize you should call ahead. I love the German feel. The waitresses mother is the cook ❤️ You can literally hear her tenderizing the meat in the kitchen.

Excellent food and superb service. Food is made to order with the exception of the desserts. Traditional German food which requires a bit of time. Small but quaint restaurant so small kitchen. If you're not in a hurray, want great German food, this is the place.

We were looking for a different ethnic restaurant and had not been to a German themed one yet when we ran across this one in an online search. Read that the portions were large - they are; that the food was good - it is; that the staff were friendly - they are as well as courteous and efficient. One caveat though - you might read in other sites that they accept credit cards - nope, this is a CASH ONLY establishment. That is why the 4 stars and that the menu selection is limited.

Tremendous dinner! Small, family run, european style restaurant. Love the no-rush style of European restaurants, where you can enjoy the food, the people and the wonderful staff (especially Mom!). Must have reservations!! Cash only. Large portions!
