I was on my way north from Miami and as the traffic hit, I got hangry. I decided to go ahead and stop. This was the first place that happened to come up on my bookmarks and at about 15 mins south of my mom's, I'll be back!! The gentleman that owns the place cooks the food, and is super friendly! When I walked in, I asked how to order and he explained that every day he makes a different plate and went over everything that was in it. It's a sampler plate for $15 ($14.72) and it's so worth it! Today it came with a brown stew protein (he wouldn't really tell me what exactly it was made of except vegetables) which tasted like seitan and it was nice and spicy with that fresh scotch bonnet! The plate also came with a very large portion of rice and peas, a small portion of vegan mac & cheese, and a small portion of some sort of bean stew with a tiny boiled plantain, some fresh greens and a small slice of avocado. I asked him if I could order a large portion of just the protein, but he said that he doesn't sell it like that because it's hard to make. Oh, the plate also came with some little vegetable ball, which he explained had a lot of vegetables in it and it was delicious! Seriously, everything was so good. I also got a spinach, calalloo, and pumpkin patty which was also nice and spicy! You know my eye spotted the treats in a cabinet. I was lucky enough to get the only donut with sprinkles, but there were also carrot muffins and some other fruit muffin and several different cookies to choose from and something he said was like a cinnamon roll. The gentleman said that all the treats are made with almond flour and gluten-free flour and fruits; no sugar, nothing synthetic. If you're debating on whether or not to stop in, it may look like a little hole in the wall, but it's definitely worth it!
Lovely lowkey spot with great Jamaican vegan food. The owner is kind, provides great service and the food is good. There’s so much on your plate you can barely finish it in one sitting! Highly recommended if you’re looking for good vegan food in Miami.

This was an exceptional meal, made with love and attention to detail. It was obvious the chef took pride in everything he served. The menu was simple: a few varieties of Jamaican patties and the day's meal. I had both.My meal included a house-made vegan protein (seitan, I believe) in rich, flavorful curry, roasted yucca, beans and rice, potato salad, avocado, stewed greens, and salad. All fresh and flavorful. Despite using little to no oil and limited salt, it came together in a harmony of savory and sweet flavors.Cayenne pepper was available to jazz things up, and I took advantage of that, as I like spicy foods. I had to save my lima bean curry patty for later, and that too was delicious. If I lived nearby, I would eat here regularly. Some reviewers have described the food as bland, which makes sense if you're accustomed to heavily salted and seasoned dishes. This is HEALTHY food ("ital" – basically "vital" without the "v" – cuisine, as it's called in Jamaica). If you'd like to try something different in a place that makes you feel welcome and cared for, this stronga vegan's advice is don't sleep on I Stronga Vegan!
The food is always amazing.
