Non-chain, small cafe with excellent food. Portions aren't outrageously large, but we still had leftovers. Good, southern style soul food. Fried chicken was tender & juicy with a crispy skin. Save room for dessert or get it to go.
We chose Mables as an arbitrary place to meet up with friends who were driving across the state. We couldn't have done better. It's a family operated business with great comfort food and friendly staff. We ordered dinner and between the four of us, we had the fried chicken, fried shrimp, and smothered pork chops.
