We made our reservation for the dinner package here with the VIP Fantasmic show seating. It included a drink, meal and dessert, any additions were extra, fair.
Our server was very friendly.
Our food was delicious except I really disliked the cheesecake dessert, I dismantled it to enjoy some of it and the cherries from the other dessert helped. All in all a great first experience.

Disney has always been a major part of my life. Growing up, my family visited WDW several times a year, and that tradition has carried straight into adulthood—I’m a true lifetime AP holder.

This week, I was fortunate enough to bring my newborn daughter and the rest of my family to The Hollywood Brown Derby on 11/12 for one of our trip dinners. It had been a while since our last visit, and in the meantime we fell into the usual “park food” routine. But Brown Derby has absolutely returned to its classic form.

The food was fantastic—standouts that already have us planning a return. The prosciutto croquettes were incredible, and the short rib is a great option if the Cobb salad isn’t your thing. And don’t sleep on the chocolate cake if grapefruit isn’t your vibe.

But the true highlight of the night was our server, Paul. Since COVID, Disney hasn’t always consistently captured that classic level of personal connection and cast-member magic it was once famous for—but Paul is the perfect example of someone bringing that back. He struck the rare balance of being warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful without ever feeling overbearing.

He made our daughter smile with a light-up cube, surprised my mom with a small slice of grapefruit cake when my dad preferred a more traditional dessert, and he made sure every part of our meal worked seamlessly with a newborn in tow. And to cap it off, after we left the restaurant he literally ran outside to return a little burp cloth we had dropped—something he absolutely didn’t have to do, but did anyway because he’s that kind of cast member.

A true gentleman and professional: the definition of cast-member magic that makes Disney special.

Our whole family cannot wait to return to Brown Derby—and we sincerely hope Paul will be our server again. We submitted a Cast Compliment for him, and truly hope he gets the recognition he very much deserves.

Thanks again, Paul, for an amazing evening!

I’ve visited The Brown Derby several times, and only once did the experience feel truly magical. For a place that prides itself on service, I rarely feel like I get great service. Perhaps it’s because we usually get a two-top and the server is juggling a larger table—either way, it often takes a while to be greeted and then even longer to get anything.

I usually come for the salad, which is typically magnificent, but this last visit was disappointing—they went way overboard with the blue cheese. I mentioned it, but it wasn’t acknowledged.

We had a wonderful meal. I had to have the iconic Cobb salad and the famous grapefruit cake. My husband said the halibut and crispy green beans were delicious. Rachid was friendly, helpful and efficient. The evening was delightful.

Lentil shepherds pie with root vegetables was delicious. Also enjoyed the vegan chocolate cake. There was a ravioli in the menu labeled as plant based too. Very very expensive, but really good vegan food.

Disgusting food. The shepherds pie is vegan... what?!? Every plate costs $50 or more. The atmosphere is so boring and dull. You will be disappointed. Disney do better.

The Hollywood Brown Derby has a nostalgic charm that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back into old Hollywood. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting, and the service was attentive. My husband ordered the lamb shank, which he absolutely loved; it was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

Unfortunately, my filet didn’t quite live up to expectations. While it was cooked properly, it arrived barely warm, which took away from the experience. The bread and butter were a highlight: warm, fresh, and delicious, and the dessert was good but not particularly memorable. The grapefruit cocktail was light and refreshing.

For the price point and reputation, I expected a bit more consistency and attention to temperature and presentation. Personally, I would not visit again.

Dined at brown derby in Hollywood studios tonight, our waitress Filomena was awful, so cold, so rude, and definitely ran us off after a drink and appetizer we decided to pay and leave elsewhere. When we normally order rounds of drinks, appetizers, entrees and desserts.

Our first visit was such a memorable experience with some of the best service we’ve ever had from Leana! We knew immediately that we wanted to come back the following year! The food was just as delicious this time around, but unfortunately our server was very irritable and sassy throughout our whole dinner. I politely asked him to bring bread along with the escargot appetizer my husband had just ordered, unknowing that he wanted to tell us HIS favorite dish on the menu. He held his hand up and told me to slow down, threw his hands in the air and snapped “AND THE HALIBUT IS MY FAVORITE DISH ON THE MENU” and stormed off. We were extremely taken aback and there was tension for the remainder of our visit. I was a server for 10 years, and my mother who was also with us is going on her 30th year as a server, so we are VERY familiar with restaurant etiquette. Such a shame that this dining experience was one of our most anticipated of the year, only to have such an odd encounter. Needless to say, we will probably be back for the great food, but will try to steer clear of Stanley!

Theme park food, over cooked and overpriced. For a fancy restaurant the Food was small portions, overcooked and just plopped on the plate. Our Server came by once to check on us and didn't offer us refills on water or soda. The Grapefruit cake was not very good. Front of the house was excellent. Getting us in earlier than our original reservation.

One and done.
I’d been wanting to try this place for years, but it was a total letdown. The famous Cobb salad was SO bland and tasted like it had bacon bits instead of real bacon. Poor quality salad. The filet had a lot of connective tissue I had to cut around, and while the salmon was decent, nothing really impressed us. Our server was inattentive and not very helpful. After all the hype, it just didn’t live up. Won’t be back.

Overpriced food. I ordered salmon for myself and my 2 year old.. paid 51$ for my meal and 17$ for kids meal and received exactly the same size piece of salmon. My husband ordered steak and received overcooked burnt dry meat.. and the 18% tip is already included regardless of the food quality and customer service provided.
