We arrived at Off the Hook and found the restaurant closed. There was a contractor working. I don't know whether the place is out of business or just renovating. Very dissappointing.

We got to Off The Hook in time for our reservation only to see that the restaurant has either permanently or temporarily closed. It would've been nice to know. Thanks OpenTable.

Our meals were extraordinary. My husband and I ordered halibut with a citrus butter sauce. The taste and preparation was perfect. Our friends ordered blackened grouper and grouper with crab. Both agreed their meals were delicious. We also thoroughly enjoyed our key lime pie and bread pudding desserts.

This is a hidden gem! If you want amazing seafood, this is the place! Don't expect the standard fried fish here. It is well cooked fresh fish served in a multitude of ways! Solid wine list as well. Order a bottle of wine, some delicious fish and finish with some bread pudding!

Based on the prior reviews I had minimal expectations for the ambiance, it is located in a strip mall but the restaurant is clean and the white table cloths take it up a notch. The service is great but dont come here in a hurry come with the expectation of a longer than usual meal with great food great service and an overall experience. This restaurant specializes in seafood. The two fish options on the night we dined were flounder and snapper. You then chose one of a handful of preparation options. My date and I each tried different fish with a different preparation. They were both delicious. I highly recommend Off The Hook and look forward to my return.

A small spot tucked away with indoor or outdoor seating. Our waitress was lovely, knowledgeable and provided great service. The food was outstanding. It's definitely a hidden gem.

The best fish we've had— truly. Perfectly prepared, excellent prep choices, great service, amazing chef. The cashew crusted snapper on soba noodles and shrimp piccata with risotto were both excellent. Chef prepared the seafood perfectly. Dessert almost stole the show— homemade key lime pie and cherry bread pudding, both outstanding. We will be back!

So happy to have found a ‘Hole-in-the-wall' that serves some of the finest seafood I've ever had! Cudo's to the chef. Just a simple suggestion though... turn on some background music and spruce up the place a bit!

Greek salad and a slice of pepperoni pizza that has no equal. Pizza is perfect and salad was better (how can salad be better than pizza?)

Non-pretentious, no undesirable odor of fish, fish is super fresh, shorts & tee shirts vibe. No longer in Gulfgate but on Reynolds the first left south next to Texaco station. Ask for Tonia.Parking: Lots of parkingWheelchair accessibility: No stairs, all ground level, plenty of space.

Best crab cakes I have ever had. The chef focuses on a limited menu and makes everything to perfection. Will definitely be back.

We just had a really delicious and memorably good seafood dinner at Off the Hook, at its new more casual location off Reynolds St on 41 N near GulfGate. The restaurant has always been at the top of our list for expertly prepared fish and seafood in creative and flavorful sauces and preparations. The new location is more casual (but with a large outdoor enclosed by 3 sides space), white twinkly lights at one end. The indoor room has space for 4-5 tables, and is casual and unpretentious (a bit like Walt's, up the St, but a more creative menu) but OTH has white linen tablecloths. The green salads were so fresh and delicious, and amply sized for 7-10 dollars. We've heard the calamari were wonderful but didn't try them this time. We all chose fresh halibut, a beautiful, succulent and tender thick white fish, cooked to perfection, crusted with cashews, and finished in a delicious curry sauce - sweet and a tad spicy, soba noodles to soak up and enjoy that sauce. SO good I had to finish every last bite. My friend had the same. My husband had his Mediterranean style, also delicious, with a wonderful risotto. South African Sauvignon Blanc and Sonoma or Napa Chards were delicious and reasonably priced. We couldn't resist the homemade Key Lime Pie, an individual 4-5” round serving in graham cracker crust and homemade whipped cream. Out of this world. Every bite of everything was spectacularly fresh, individually cooked - just an especially good meal. That's what you can expect when Wes Duval, well-known area seafood chef, prepares dinner for you! Hurry up and get in there, it's delicious ....

Service was excellent, food was outstanding. Very fresh and delicious, beginning with warm rolls and herbed butter. Unfortunately, no ambience at all - actually depressing. Would definitely go back for the food ..... reasonably priced as well !

Enjoyed Off The Hook when they were located in Gulf gate. So glad I found them at their new location, very close to Gulf gate. I love the way the chef prepares the fish and that you get to choose what fish you want and the sauce or preparation for your taste. The fish is always fresh and always prepared wonderfully. Outstanding value for such an excellent meal! We will be back - soon!
