Drove 30 minutes to get some shaved ice, showed up and doors were locked. Sat in the car looking for other shaved ice places and two people showed up moving tables and chairs out. Annoyed that google says there still open.

Call it Hawaiian shave ice, New Orleans snow, Texas snow cone, or border raspas, Venice finally has the real thing we have been missing for five years. These are shaved fine as snow, traditional hibiscus-shaped cups, real Hawaiian flavors (except Oahu red,blue and white for their native son president, nor border melon/cantaloupe )- these are not the mediocre, bland street vendor at school event syrups. Plus you can add cream on top. This pleasant shop makes Miami Ave not to be missed, and makes Venice tastes complete.

Five stars! Island Ice is a hidden gem on Miami Ave. They started with a large selection of flavors for their shaved ice, but continue to add more items to their menu. Great place to grab a quick snack to cool down. They have shaved ice, Hershey’s ice cream, popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs and cotton candy! Great service. Friendly, family owned.
