Not good. I felt bad for our poor server who was busy but come on. We got to the table and we sat for almost 20 minutes from when we ordered drinks to when they arrived. The Old Fashion I ordered was more like bourbon flavored water and was nasty. I decided to switch to wine to save myself from their bar tender and I saw my glass of wine sitting on at the station for almost 35 minutes. I was DONE with my meal before she brought it to the table. I tried multiple times to catch her attention to politely point out that it was there but she never looked over at us. Our Calamari came out not just room temperature but COLD. Obviously it had been sitting for ages waiting on our server to bring it out. I tried to send it back to get something warm, but I tried multiple times to catch her eye to talk to her about it and never did. I have up and ate cold calamari. Then there was my wife’s dinner. She has a few food allergies so she just asked them to hold a few things from the plate. Nothing special. No substitutions or special replacements. Just hold a few things. Instead they brought the plate out with nothing held. Again it took forever to catch the servers attention. They brought it back to the kitchen and and 5 minutes later the her plate came back out. They obvious did not refire a new pork chop for her. Instead they rinsed off the gravy, pan seared and made it tough as nails and disgusting looking. That was the last straw for us. We definitely won’t be back. The only reason they didn’t get 1 star was that my scallops were very tasty.
Place is great, so was the staff. Kitchen needs to up the game some. Food was too salty, risotto wasn't done and frankly mine is better. Fish was well prepared thankfully.
Excellent food and service. Ate at the bar as the wait for a table for 2 was an hour. We ordered the salmon and red fish dinners. Enjoyed every bite. We will be back!
We always enjoy ocean and acre!!! The blue point oysters are always amazing. Tried the lobster bisque last night and was not disappointed! Even though they were slammed on a Saturday night, service was still great! Will be back for sure.
Took 20 minutes for a server to come to our table (after asking twice). Ordered our meal, cocktails and lobster bisque for appetizer. We all took one bite of the bisque and almost spit it out. Luke warm and rancid. We immediately ate some mints, cancelled our meals and left. Second time giving this restaurant a try - NEVER AGAIN!!!! All the way around awful. To make things worse, my husband went to the restroom and said it was downright filthy.
We we're really excited to try ocean an acre. We went for my moms birthday I had a 4:30 reservation on a Sunday. It was a beautiful day and the doors were open so that was very nice, it wasn't crowded at all. The service was extremely slow and food was unimpressive. fish and chips were greasy, lobster roll was very small. We didn't order appetizers, our waters were often empty and it took an hour to get our food. We asked for the check multiple times and even that took an additional 20 minutes.
Great food, nice ambiance and friendly waiter. Drink not worth the price. Had the fish and chips, which was delicious. The smoked fish dip was awesome and also ordered the seafood stew, a bit overpriced but delicious. Would come back again for the fish and chips and appetizers.
The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. There is a good menu selection. All the staff was friendly and service was great. Definitely going back.
The food here was so good, my daughter ate a whole entire bowl of mussels. The service was excellent and our server was very friendly and funny! Prices a little on the high side but quantity & quality were good. We really liked the Fish & Chips and the burger too. Didn't like beets in my "garden salad"... and don't think it was mentioned on the menu. Decor is beautiful but both bathrooms were a little dirty. Both bathrooms gender neutral. Has outdoor seating and a raw bar.
The Valentine's Day seafood platter for 2 was delicious. Everything was fresh and we'll prepared. We'll be back to try some of the other tempting menu items.
I live in halcyon and have been here multiple times. The first time I asked for my salmon blackened....oh my!!!!! It was incredible!! Also the grouper is so fresh. The risotto is on point, brocollini not too soft and not too hard. Great color. I’m a food critic! Their oysters are great! The only thing I did not enjoy has been their fried fish sandwich and the mussels were not very good in flavor. Too much breading on the sandwich, but the grilled fish sandwich is amazing. My friend let me try his burger and surprisingly for a seafood place they have something for non seafood lovers that is really good! I love the atmosphere. It’s my favorite spot in halcyon. You can tell the chefs know what they are doing. Chris is the man! Great service and knows the menu well.
I love Halcyon and have been there many times but I have never tried Ocean & Acre. It has beautiful decor and a nice outdoor patio with fireplace. Our server was very friendly and informative. We started off with the crab noodle cake split et which was amazing! For dinner We order the bacon wrapped scallops which were great and I had the Pan seared salmon with jalapeño honey glaze. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious. We skipped dessert but it was a really great dinner. I cannot wait to go back.
I've been to this great spot about ten times and I love it! I used to visit the Atlanta area lots and now since I've moved here it's my go to. Grass fed beef and wild salmon and gluten free options make it perfect for me and my guy. It's clean and spacious and has an outdoor patio. And one of the managers - Nick is AWESOME. The customer service here has been pleasing time and time again. Oh! And don't forget to try the beet salad with goat cheese!
Had one of the better meals I've had in a while recently at Ocean & Acre up in Halcyon! It was a beautiful day so we sat outside on their patio, and enjoyed Steamed Mussels, House Oysters, Grilled Alabama Oysters, & Caesar and Kale Salads. I'm a sucker for fresh seafood and this place really does it well! Plus, I got to do a lil shopping after which is always nice. Highly recommend a visit
Have eaten there 6 or 7 times. Just made reservations for tonight too. Great atmosphere, well prepared, fresh, delicious. Live their menu. Have never been disappointed. Friendly, very courteous, and very efficient staff. Among my favorite places to go, also love their patio in nice weather.
