My wife of Italian heritage loved this place when we first found it two years ago. Because of her cancer fight, we didn't make it back for over a year but when we did, Bill and Diane recognized her by name. Just from one visit. If you don't enter this place with a sense of familia, you may not have the same experience as those of us who do (judging by some of the Yelp reviews I've read. All I know is these people and their food is as authentic and homemade as you'll ever find... it's Italian family food. My brother-in-law from Wisconsin went overboard with what we bought to feed his other 4 brothers and my wife this past weekend - lasagna, meatballs, and 2 loaves of Italian bread. It was magnificent.

Probably the nicest and most sincere people I've had the pleasure to meet in a very long time. Bill and Diana know their products and are very willing to assist with culinary mastery! Give their dishes a try, you won't be disappointed!

No more sandwiches at lunch, but place smells so good still. It's like a little Italian grocery store with precooked meals you can warm up at home. Not a friendly welcoming place. But the food is awesome.

I love, love, love this place. The entrees are delicious and fresh. I have tried the lasagna and the tortellini. Both were excellent. The owners are super helpful and so nice. Keep up the great work!

This place does not serve sandwiches and the people that work here are beyond rude. It's as if they hate being there and don't want customers at all.

Walked in here with my mother a few months ago and the owner was very rude. I asked how much the meatballs were and he said "very expensive" as he then turns away from us. It was like we weren't worthy enough to buy his food. I tried to laugh it off and say something silly, but he continued to be almost insulting-like. I don't care how good the food might be here, manners and professionalism means a lot. Please be cautious when you go here. I'm sure there are many great Italian delis that have owners who are kind and respectful.

Just walked into this store to check it out and possibly buy some goodies, however, the owner was extremely rude. I asked a question about a product in the cooler and he answered by making fun of where I'm from, as if to imply I was somewhat beneath him. Next, my daughter just barely touched an object on display and he totally yelled at her and said, "excuse me, that is not a toy!" He then rolled his eyes and continued to "educate" me. I turned around and told my family, "let's go." We walked right out. I will never be back. You are crazy if you spend money with this very angry unhappy person. (I wanted to give 0 stars but the Yelp app made me give 1.)

MEATBALLS are ginormously amazing. We've also had stuffed flounder and other take home gourmet level dishes. Now we bring a cooler and stop in whenever we know we'll be in the vicinity.

The food is good - not excellent, but pretty good. The lasagna is a little mushy for my liking. They have a nice selection of pantry items, and the bread is delicious (not homemade). I was torn between 3-4 stars because 1) they're VERY expensive (take and bake shouldn't be the same price as a sit-down restaurant meal), and 2) because they lack vegetarian options. I purchased the pasta fagioli soup only to find prosciutto in it. I've never seen it prepared like that (and I'm from an Italian family) so I wouldn't have asked if it was veg. That was disappointing. Go wednesdays for the biggest selection.

This store sells prepared food, sandwiches, and Italian groceries. Their prepared food is excellent. When I go there, I usually buy several dishes, which I then freeze. They are tasty, stand up well to freezing/reheating, and they are truly Italian style. Their groceries are top quality. It is the only place I have found were I can find some authentic cheeses and various types of prosciutto (Prosciutto cotto is my favorite, I have never found it anywhere else around Atlanta). If you like Italian food, highly recommended.

LOVE Plantation Italia! Where do I start? OK, first off the owners are super friendly and helpful--just a delight to talk to every time I stop in. Love the wonderful pasta selection and the homemade, ready made meals are AMAZING! My favorite is the Eggplant Rollatini but honestly you can't go wrong with any of them: Meatballs, Lasagna, Sausage & Peppers, Chicken or Veal Parmigiana--all delicious! We love making homemade pizza (in the summer we cook it on the grill)---we have searched high and low for authentic dough (even making it by scratch)---Our search is over! Plantation Italia has best pizza dough! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed! Love this place!

Apologies to my steering wheel... ...I was going to Plantation Italia for my not-as-occasional-as-I-would-want-to stop for fresh, yes, I, said fresh, I shall shout, FRESH. HOMEMADE. MUTZ...that's mozzarella to the uninitiated... (I even hesitate to tell you about the FRESH MUTZ because owner Bill Ashworth only makes his FRESH MUTZ in small quantities on Fridays and I think he is always out of it by Saturday. It is so yum and reminds me of Vito's in Hoboken, NJ)...anyway, as I was saying, I went in for the MUTZ. I opened the door. I was hit Instantly with the aroma of garlic and Italian spices. I was drawn to the counter in the back. I eyed the MUTZ but I saw the source of the deliciousness: a beautiful bowl of tortelloni pasta with generous chunks of shrimp, tomatoes and marinated artichoke. I asked co-owner Diana (and wife of Bill) what it was. I didn't listen. (I am sorry.) I don't think I listened because I said "I'll take some" before she finished speaking. She had said that she just made it so it was warm. It's a 28 minute drive home. It was bad enough resisting the fresh mutz and the fresh bread in the car... ...There was traffic. Warm pasta with big chunks of shrimp was calling. The only casualty was my steering wheel. So, when you go, because I know you will, the only thing that I ask is that you save some mutz for me.

I love Italian anything and look forward to popping in for some beautiful pasta. The panini sandwiches were delicious! I have to say the lady was a bit curt, but warmed up a bit after some conversation.

Excellent selection of hard to find items. If your a foodie than it is worth the stop. I've met the owners twice. Both times with my 7 year old son with me. They could not have need nicer. I guess I'm the kind of parent that has my kid use the bathroom before we leave the house.

Where else can you get Dietz & Watson in the ATL? You Philly homers know what I mean! If you're from the northeast you'll definitely appreciate what Plantation Italia is trying to do. Plantation Italia is a real Italian deli in Alpharetta. With owners from my old backyard, Medford, NJ, these guys "get" south Philly-style Italian. Real imported Italian cheeses. Prosciutto di Parma. Great cold cuts (D&W is the Philly competitor to NY's Boar's Head - you won't be disappointed). Lots of Italian specialty food items. The take-away Lasagne is molto bene, paisan. All we need is the Phillies game on the TV, and I'm back home! Yo, it's a little more expensive than Krogers or some flavorless deli, but support a real mom and pop shop with exceptional deli meats and authentic Italian specialties. Prego!
