We were refused service at Menchie’s Beechwood on 6/23 because we were not wearing masks. Ostensibly, the policy remains in place because the ‘self-serve’ toppings area is open. Ironically, while we were being addressed by another guest and a staff member simultaneously, another customer hovered over the self-serve area with her mask below her chin - very effective when worn thusly.
Absolutely terrible experience. The male employee was completely rude. Upon entering the doors, he yelled at me to put on a mask, which I did. & then continued yelling, telling me to sanitize my hands which I also did. But there was absolutely no need for the yelling. Definitely will never come back.
I actually enjoyed my experience there today. I talked with the manager (very friendly) in passing and he seemed very concerned about keeping the doors opened and keeping everyone safe. I enjoyed our talk and the yogurt was great!
Horrible worker insisted we didn’t touch nothing then turned around and grabbed my two years olds bowl from him before we were done with it and has slight attitude won’t be back for sure would have left zero but no option
Waited about 20 mins outside of the store because the doors were locked. Called several times and heard the phone ring from outside, and it went straight to voicemail asking me to email... another customer waiting with me told me that the back door was open and the employees were sitting in their car. I walked back there and confronted the employees in which they acted as if they were not gone for long. This is also to mention that it was one hour before closing so I don’t understand for the long break and the locking of the door. They lost a lot of customers due to this incident because today was a very wonderful day to get frozen yogurt but this has tainted my experience.
Shop clearly stated that it closed at 8 and my friend and I got there at 6:45 to find the door locked. a customer just walked out so we were confused as to why it would be “closed”. so we called a few times and knocked on the door just to find out the employees in the back lot in their car with the door of the store propped open.
I love Menchies but this location is horrible! So disappointed ?
The customer service was awful.
Really awful experience. The tables are sticky, the place reeks of B.O, and the staff is very unfriendly. Do not waste your money.
Overpriced for subpar froyo served by a curmudgeon.

We had a great experience at this place. We enjoyed the wonderful ambience and the menu. The waiters are super personal. I’m happy we finally decided to visit here.
I love fro-yo and was ecstatic when I found one here in Athens. It had several original flavors, a few new ones, and lots of toppings all stocked and available. My only complaint is that there were no waffle bowls available.
Unfortunately, Menchie's is going downhill. The last 4 to 5 times we've been in have been the same. Store dirty. Glass shelves, freezers, etc covered in thick dust. The cashiers all make it clear they'd rather be elsewhere. The 1 that was there Saturday afternoon at apx 5 to 6pm looked like she was on a date with her boyfriend. Yesterday around the same time there was 2 girls but, same "who cares" attitude. Our yogurt was $30 and all I had was a 100 dollar bill. Although they had the change they said the boss would get mad if they used the change to break it for my 30 dollar yogurt. After explaining I didn't have a card or anything smaller on me she said I could maybe go to next door to Your Pie and see if they could break it. A business I was not spending $30 at could maybe break it to spend at another business who couldn't be bothered to help work it out. Had the kids not wanted the yogurt, it would've been left there and wasted. I had to figure it out. They were fine with throwing it away. On top of the dirtiness and unpleasant staff, they rarely have more than 4 to 6 flavors where there used to be a good selection of old and new flavors. If the owners don't start changing some things, this location will be like the Eastside location. The name and what used to be or could be will only last so long before it's just not enough anymore. We will start taking our business to Di'lishi on Oconee Connector. My daughter likes it better after trying it a couple times.
Staff is nice and the shop is always clean!
Love Menchies!! Their new pineapple Dole whip flavor is a must try.
